How did Kim Sears achieve her breathtaking Wimbledon haircut?

As Kim Murray cheered on her husband Andy on Center Court last night in a dramatic three-hour battle that has yet to be decided, many eyes were also on the glamorous mum as she stunned in a vibrantly patterned dress with signature honey locks.

Mum-of-four Kim, 35, introduced a new 1970s-inspired haircut at Wimbledon 2023 as she sat down to watch her husband, a two-time men’s champion, compete.

The painter, who has become known for her stunning locks, was animated as she watched her husband come back from a narrow first set defeat to draw with Stefanos Tsitsipas before the match was called off as it broke the 11pm curfew of reached the All England Club.

According to an expert, the haircut signals a new image for Andy’s childhood sweetheart as she ups the ante on style during SW19.

Fabian Martinez, a hair stylist and trichologist at The London Hair Clinic, has revealed how Kim got her stunning look – and why her new cut is the hot style of the summer.

Watching her husband duke it out in court against Greece’s Tsitsipas, Kim looked sensational in a £695 pink floral Zimmerman dress paired with an Aspinal of London bag.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Fabian explained that Kim’s latest retro look is known as a “butterfly cut” with lots of layers — and much of the volume she achieves in her locks is due to having enviable genes.

“Kim has naturally thick hair,” Fabian said, adding that she probably lengthened her locks with a bouncy hair dryer.

“There are some lighter shades from the roots, which would suggest that she also has some extension to give extra thickness and volume to enhance the look.

‘The hair is blow-dried with volumizing products and with a large round brush to give root lift.

“This is called the brushing technique, where blow-drying is done from the root and the brush is let in while the hair cools before another section is done.”

Fabian described Kim’s new look, the butterfly haircut, as “a long bob where you bring all the hair forward and cut it in thick layers.”

He added, “This is very fashionable right now, especially on TikTok.

“The length is super flattering for most ages, especially Kim, but it’s also a style that suits most face shapes.” It’s a great cut for summer and low maintenance if you have thick hair.”

He described Kim’s look as “on trend” and said it was a “sophisticated and classy” style that complements her chic outfits.

“The length isn’t too long, which really shows off the layering of the butterfly, and while it’s clearly blow-dried, it also looks very natural and effortless,” said Fabian.

“Kim was 100% cutting edge on style, while other A-listers were still wearing super-long hair extensions that look a bit dated and overly groomed for Wimbledon.

“Kim is supportive of her husband and doesn’t want to look too distracting, but has perfectly captured the effortless and stylish Wimbledon glamour.”

Kim and Andy have been together since 2005 and first got together when she was 17 and he was 18.

They are now happily married with four children: Sophia, seven, Edie, five, Teddie, three, and a two-year-old thought to be named Lola.
