I'm a Ukrainian tank destroyer – I blew up 40 Russian vehicles with my Javelin and won't stop, I have a taste for blood
A UKRAINIAN tank destroyer who has already blown up more than 40 Russian vehicles says he will never stop because he has a “taste for blood”.
Spear operator “Gagauz”, commander of the 79th Brigade's anti-tank guided missile team, is “in love” with the US-made weapon.
The portable Javelin missile was crucial in the destruction Russian tanks, cementing themselves as a big favorite among Ukrainian soldiers in their fight against Russian troops.
Just weeks after the Russian president Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the anti-tank weapon was so popular it was called “Saint Javelin”as a meme featuring it and Mary Magdalene went viral.
Gagauz, who first used the Javelin launcher in combat in the summer of 2022 said of the experience: “I was told to prepare, saw the goalmade a launch.
“I hit it, then developed a taste for blood and the desire to burn more of it. I love it.
“I do my job effectively, so I started to think about it differently. That is, I started to love it.”
The young man, whose real identity is not known, said he used the Javelin to hit MT-LB armored fighting vehicles, tanks, BTR armored personnel carriers and an engineering vehicle.
In total, he hit more than 40 Russian vehicles.
Gagauz added: “But if we count all those affected, but roll back, that will be sixty.
“The system is still working fine, thank God. It won't let me down.
“There was an instance where the turret of a tank went up ten meters after the hit. It was epic.”
His final mission involved a column of eight vehicles, including two tanks and one MT-LB, while the rest “rolled back”.
Gagauz continued: “I will say that the enemy has greater numbers of vehicles and personnel than we do. Much more than us.
“But as for their training, as soon as they get into trouble, they immediately forget about battle tactics.
“I'll keep fucking them until I can't anymore, until morale or… health says goodbye.”
Javelin launchers are estimated to cost $178,000 (£135,600), while each replacement missile costs $78,000 (£59,200).

The missile carries two explosive payloads and can tear through some of the heaviest tanks, including Russia's T-90 main battle tank.
It is best operated by two soldiers, but can also be used by a single fighter. It is easy to understand, which is useful in situations where people need to learn to use them quickly.
The Javelin works by locking on to a target's thermal image using thermal sensors.
Fighters can look through a command launch unit and choose from different targets and attack types, with a disposable launch tube on the back.
It can travel up to 4 miles, giving soldiers a fair distance to strike.
In March 2022, not long after Putin started his war, Ukrainian soldiers thanked Britain for sending anti-tank weapons to them.
One soldier called the deadly gear a “beautiful thing,” while another urged more “kind of toys” to be sent.
The then British Secretary of Defense, Ben Wallacesaid “small shipments” of Javelin anti-tank missiles were being delivered Ukraine to help in the fight against Russia.
