I’m a travel blogger and my KFC hack can give you the best view of the Giza pyramids

A genius traveler has shared a secret hack to enjoy the most beautiful views atop Egypt’s Giza Pyramids.

Turned up in one TikTok clip, Kimberly Conner of California explains that the roof of a KFC restaurant is key to some of the best views in the area.

The travel blogger, who graduated from UCLA, instructed visiting tourists to “order some rotten food before walking all the way up to take in the view ‘all alone’.”

She added that paying for the brand’s famous “Zinger” burger was a cheap compromise, and much cheaper than spending the extra money for a taxi or camel ride to the historic site.

The viral video has been viewed nearly 2 million times and viewers were in awe of the brilliant tip.

She said, “This is the most ridiculous Giza Pyramids hack you will ever hear.

So outside the exit there’s a Pizza Hut and a KFC with this view.

‘Would you believe they really have a view from the top?

So if you go in and order some lousy food, walk all the way up – that’s right, keep going past.

‘Here’s the view from the roof of the KFC. I’m sure there are other rooftops around but this one is completely empty. You have it all to yourself. Just you and your Zinger.”

“I think it’s the most ridiculous place you can have KFC, but honestly buying one burger is a lot cheaper than going to one of the other viewpoints or paying for taxis or camels.”

Kimmie then takes a big bite out of the bought burger: ‘Hmmm good!’ she says.

Proud of her revelation, she zooms in on the surrounding view to give onlookers a better glimpse of the pyramids.

‘How unreal is that? she asks.

‘It’s actually one of the most central and closest restaurants in Giza’.

“Save the expensive restaurants for later, before sundown, and also save some fries to walk around for the rest of the day.”

“You’re welcome,” she finally adds.

The self-proclaimed “nomad” has visited more than 75 countries around the world and worked in more than 17 countries.

The blogger has been on the road since 2015 ‘looking for new experiences’ and to get to know new cultures.

Kimmie currently lives in California but says she has “dual citizenship” with the UK.

Many of her fans were thankful for the budget-saving hack, while a select few weren’t too keen on Kimmie revealing the secret location.

One person said, ‘I didn’t know there was a KFC or Pizza Hut in Giza until this moment and now my soul hurts’.

“This is a top level travel hack,” replied another.

“Everything to yourself until this video comes out. I love this hack though, well done,” said another.

Meanwhile, one person commented, “I have a feeling it won’t be empty for much longer.”

The historic pyramid of Giza is found in the Giza pyramid complex in Egypt and is said to have been built between 2600 and 2500 BC.

The pyramids are one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions and are normally accessible by taxi, private driver or formal tour guide.

It comes after Carmie Sellitto, from Hampshire, released a funny clip revealing why you shouldn’t bother visiting the pyramids.

“The first reason is the fact that you have to climb on your knees for about 30-40 minutes and it gets tiring, let me tell you, it’s like an obstacle course,” he said in the tongue-in-cheek footage.

Of footage of his friend climbing up a narrow walkway and gently banging her head against the low ceiling, he says, “It’s pretty dangerous too. Watch my friend get hit.’

He outlines his second reason and jokes: ‘The second reason is the fact that it doesn’t have air conditioning.

‘How are you going to build these pyramids in 2023, but live without air conditioning?’

In case viewers hadn’t noticed the video was ironic, Carmie’s third reason makes it totally clear.

In the video, he reveals that visiting the ancient monuments is “so epic you won’t experience something like this again.”
