Ruturaj Gaikwad not available for selection due to illness
Gqeberha: India opener Ruturaj Gaikwad did not make the playing XI for the second T20I against South Africa at St. George’s Park due to illness on Tuesday. “We’re going bowling first, we’ve been under the covers most of the day, so I guess it’s moving around a bit. Every match will be important for us to refine things before the 2024 T20 World Cup, hopefully we can start well today. From my point of view, it’s about understanding whether someone needs rest. No debuts today,” said SA captain Aiden Markram after winning the toss.
“I’m very happy to be here and happy to know there is cricket nearby. We didn’t know what to do, but now we’re very happy to be the first. It’s an opportunity for everyone who plays this game.
