Lisa Wilkinson may be away from television screens for a year.

But the former Project host is hardly struggling, considering she has a real estate portfolio worth more than most people make in a lifetime.

The TV presenter, 64, and her journalist husband Peter FitzSimons, 62, have amassed an impressive profile of luxury homes over the years, with one expert valuing their current portfolio at up to $70 million.

The couple and their three children live in a sprawling six-bedroom estate worth up to $40 million in Sydney's affluent Cremorne.

They reported paying just $1.4 million for the house and having undergone extensive renovations, including the addition of a huge bedroom wing overlooking Sydney Harbour.

Speak with women's Day magazine on Monday, a leading real estate agent claimed that Lisa and Peter could make up to $70 million if they sold both homes as one large plot of land.

“They could put any price on their property,” the expert began.

Meanwhile, Lisa and Peter rent out the house next door for as much as $2,500 a week.

According to the publication, Lisa plans to eventually convert that property into an “office” for her author husband.
