Instagram users faced server connection issues on the Meta social media platform when the mobile application went down.

New Delhi: Instagram and Facebook users faced server connection issues on Meta’s social media platforms on Monday. Many users experienced an outage on both mobile applications and desktop. The outage prompted users to turn to social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), to express their grievances with a touch of humor through funny memes. Downdetector, an outage tracking website, has logged over 3,00,000 Facebook outages and over 47,000 Instagram outage reports worldwide.

Meta led by Mark Zuckerberg said they are working to resolve the issue. “We are aware that people have problems accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a social media post from X.

According to DownDetector, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads, all owned by Meta, have been offline since 9am on Tuesday. In India, users experienced issues loading content on their feeds around 8:56 p.m.
