The Internet is divided after a Virginia The woman burst into tears while reading a letter allegedly sent by the man who killed her parents.

Ariel Jones, 28, read the words out loud to her followers TikTokclaiming that she was given them by the person who orphaned her at just four months old.

She uploaded the video with the caption: ‘My parents’ killer wrote me back. I’ve been waiting for this moment for almost 30 years!’

Although she did not reveal the name of the suspected writer, according to a news report from WDBJ-7 revealed in 1995 that Raleigh Dean Martin Joseph Siffert Jr and his girlfriend Barbara Hackney – who Ariel says were her parents.

According to the decades-old news story, Martin shot his wife Marion before shooting Siffert Jr and Hackney in their own home.

The news report also stated that Siffert Jr. and Hackney’s ‘little daughter was found unharmed in the home’, who Ariel claims to be.

According to online death records, the tragic ordeal occurred on November 7, 1995.

Public records show that Martin, now 64, is still serving a life sentence at Nottoway Correctional Center, Virginia.

Ariel showed her followers an image of her mother and father from happier days, and called them JJoseph and Barbara.

An X user who reshared Jones’ video on June 7, another excerpt was also added to their thread, in which the 28-year-old explained the tragic events that took place.

In the video, Ariel claimed, “He shot my dad four times – the first shot was a shot to his lungs. He shot my mother five times. The first shot went to her heart.”

Martin pleaded guilty to capital murder for the February 1996 slayings of Siffert Jr. and Hackney and was sentenced to life in prison, according to an archived investigation. WDBJ 7 report.

Jones hinted in her video that she was preparing to write a letter to Martin after explaining the tragic events that led to her parents’ deaths.

As soon as she received the letter, she smiled slightly, opened the letter and read what it said.

Martin wrote in the alleged letter that it was “very good” to hear from her and that he hopes she and her family are doing well.

‘Thank you for the opportunity to write. “I prayed that God would somehow comfort you in a way that only he could do,” he wrote.

“I want you to know that I care about you and am willing to help you in any way I can.”

Jones read that Dean had wanted to write, but he wanted her to “break the ice” because he didn’t want to offend her.

He also congratulated her on going through open heart surgery, pursuing her education and raising two daughters.

“I would like to write back and forth and I can call you if you want,” he wrote.

He concluded by writing, “I’m glad you wrote. I only have good intentions. Be careful, Dean.”

Jones had a small smile after reading the letter, but she couldn’t help but cry shortly afterwards.

X users are divided by her response, including the original poster, who was “confused” by Jones’ joy.

“She’s acting like her favorite pop star is contacting her… I’m confused,” one X user tweeted on June 7.

One person accused this action of being “a weird fetish” and another noted that they “didn’t hear the apology.”

‘It is strange. But this is how she chooses to deal with the unimaginable,” another X user wrote.

“I just hope for her sake that it doesn’t negatively affect her relationship with the rest of her family.”
