The 1930s house known as Appleton House is located in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

The well-lit house has been modernized in recent years, so that future owners can move straight in and make it their own home.

Sir Roger, best known for his role as 007, died in May 2017 after a battle with cancer.

He first appeared in the 1973 hit Live and Let Die and went on to appear in seven Bond films – more than any other 007 actor.

Now the place he once called home is for sale.

It is set in extensive grounds of 2.8 hectares, modeled after Edwardian and arts and crafts styles.

In addition, it has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a large outbuilding.

Potential owners can also use an attached studio with terrace, detached garage, fitness room and luxury swimming pool.

After his death, Sir Roger's net worth was estimated at around £84 million.

The late actor once spoke of his 'love of luxury', saying he enjoyed 'spending' money more than saving it.

Speaking to the Telegraph in 2012 he said: “I like cash. When I got out of the army I went to the repair theater in Palmers Green and I think I got £9 or £10 a week and they were all in crisp £1 notes .

“The sheer luxury of it.”

Speaking about the former house coming on the market, agent Alasdhair Lochrane said: “He had visited it before and knew the Cotswolds.

“It is an interesting part of the history of the property and says something about the house that someone like Sir Roger Moore chose to live there.

“It has the character of an older building, but it is not listed and the owners have improved it considerably.

“It has an impressive garden room off the living room and kitchen and a large rear terrace with beautiful views of the gardens, woodlands and rural landscape beyond.

“It feels very private because you only catch a glimpse of it from the road.”

About Sir Roger Moore

Sir Roger's James Bond career began in 1973 with Live And Let Die.

This was followed by The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.

He continued the role for three more films in the 1980s: For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and his final appearance, A View To A Kill, in 1985, where he played opposite Grace Jones.

In his 2008 autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, Sir Roger revealed how he had to cut his hair and lose weight for the role when it was first cast in 1973.

The late actor later admitted that he felt “resentful” about having to make such changes.

Sir Roger died on May 23, 2017, after losing a short battle with cancer, at the age of 89.

In his family's statement at the time, they said: “It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce that our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today in Switzerland after a short but courageous battle with cancer.”

The screen legend's battle with cancer wasn't the star's only health problem for years.

Sir Roger was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2013, which left him “unable to drink martinis”.

Before that, in 2013, the late actor had to learn to walk again after suffering from pneumonia and had to have a pacemaker fitted after collapsing on stage.

The James Bond legend previously battled pneumonia at the age of five – when he was left on the brink of death in hospital before recovering.

In 1993, the star suffered from prostate cancer, later undergoing a radical prostatectomy (removal of the prostate gland) and recovered.

In 2012, Sir Roger admitted he 'regretted' sunbathing as a young man – having suffered a series of skin cancers in later years.
