Jenni Murray: I have been using weight loss Jabs for seven months and I am happy with the results … but that is why they should not be made available more easily

I have been that for seven months Taking the weight loss medicine Mounjaro. I have not had unpleasant side effects and I stopped hearing what is described as ‘food noise’.

In theory, I should therefore be more than happy in the government’s plan to make these fat priks more wider available. But these powerful injections should not be used as a shortcut to be ‘ready for beach’ and that is what I fear that they will be available too easily.

They have been developed to cure obesity. The only reason for the health service to eliminate millions in the reduction of obesity is to reduce the costs of the disease to the NHS.

For those whose goal is to use the drugs for the intended goal, I am in favor of the NHS they make available to the chemist. But I can’t approve that they are used by those who try them for vanity.

I say that if someone knows more about obesity than most. I know it is possible for a working mother to rise from 9th 7 pounds to 24th. Admittedly, to eating too much in advance prepared food.

Wegovy and Mounjaro were not approved for recipe on the NHS, except the treatment of type 2 diabetes, which I did not have. I could only acquire it by finding a pharmacy with doctors on board to assess medical history and decide whether it was necessary. I succeeded in their tests and ordered Mounjaro. I inject myself once a week.

The proposed new pharmacy distribution of these medicines must be properly managed. They should only be given to those who have a high BMI and whose weight loss will save their lives and save the NHS that have to do with diabetes, high blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks and even cancer.

We must all remember that these are powerful medicines that must be treated with respect.
