Surgeon claims Jennifer Anniston’s new ‘tired and aged’ face is due to botched filler – years after actress said plastic surgery was a ‘slippery slope’

Jennifer Aniston sparked plastic surgery rumors when she hit the red carpet to promote her TV show in Los Angeles last weekend.

The 55-year-old apparently had a swollen area under her left eye as well as swollen lips, with fans saying she looked visibly ‘more tired’ than usual.

Now a plastic surgeon claims the new look is due to a botched cosmetic procedure, or what he described as ‘bad filler’.

Dr. Richard Devine claimed that this was probably due to too much gel-like substance being injected into the tear trough – the area between the lower eyelid and the cheek.

Tear trough filler is popular among celebrities and anti-agers because it helps with sagging, crow’s feet and bags under the eyes.

“What we see here is that the tear filler has gone wrong,” he said in a video on social media.

‘Complications like this arise if too much filler is injected, or if the type of product used attracts too much water – and thus… the area swells,’ he added.

Aniston was filmed at an event for her Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show.”

Dr. Devine continued, “The filler sticks out so much that it actually causes shadows around the eyes and deep ridges in the center of the cheek, which actually makes her look more tired and older.”

As people age, the under-eye area can look more sunken due to a natural loss of volume in the face – caused by a gradual loss of fat cells.

To combat this, many are given filler in the tear trough area – the groove that runs from the bottom of the inner eyelid to the cheek.

Surgeons often use hyaluronic acid as a filler, which works by drawing water to the area, making it look fuller.

But this usually takes several days to weeks to resolve.

Dr. Elie Levine, a plastic surgeon in New York City, also suggested to DailyMail.com that the swelling under her left eyelid was likely due to filler.

“She has some swelling under her left eye, and that’s probably swelling from having fillers there at some point,” he said.

“That can happen after you’ve done them once, or done them repeatedly, and at 55 I think it’s naive to suggest she hasn’t dealt with that.”

He added: ‘This is an area where we see some swelling in a rare number of patients.

‘This can happen because the skin there is very thin, or because the lymphatic area – which drains fluids – can become irritated or affected in a way that leads to swelling.

‘Sometimes dissolving fillers can help address this problem, but you can also use lasers to tighten the skin in that area.’

Dr. Levine also noted that there also appeared to be a slightly swollen area under Aniston’s left eye in March 2023, suggesting the difference in the images could also be makeup-related – with Aniston possibly hiding the swelling less well in the more recent photos.

On her lips he said they looked fuller.

Aniston hinted that she has used fillers in 2011, saying, “I’m not saying I haven’t tried it… but I see it’s a slippery slope.”

She hasn’t talked about fillers lately, but other surgeons have also speculated that the star has used them – with one person saying just last month that her face now looks ‘overcrowded’.

There has also been speculation that she has had filler her nasolabial fold – or the fold that runs from the edge of the nose to the corner of the mouth – and in the lips.

Aniston in 1990 while starring in the sitcom Ferris Bueller. She has admitted to having a nose job and claims it was for medical reasons, but many onlookers have noted how the size and shape of her nose has also been changed by the surgery.

DailyMail.com reached out to her reps for comment on allegations that she used fillers under her eyes.

Aniston appeared on the red carpet at a For Your Consideration (FTC) event to promote The Morning Show, a three-season series on Apple TV that exposes the cutthroat world of morning television, in which she stars as one of the main characters. In Showbiz, an FTC event is an event where actors present their work to members of an awards body.

After seeing her appearance, one social media user commented, “I think she looks sad, like she didn’t want to smile or be there.”

A second said: ‘She didn’t have to do anything, she was absolutely beautiful just the way she was.’

A third added: ‘It doesn’t make her look any younger.’

Aniston has previously admitted to having a nose job, but claims it was to fix a ‘deviated septum’ – the cartilage that separates a person’s two nostrils.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Aniston’s nose had also dramatically changed shape after the procedure, leading to speculation that her nose may have also been surgically altered for aesthetic reasons.

Aniston was photographed with Sandra Bullock, 59, in March this year, leaving a plastic surgery office in Connecticut known for facelifts and nose jobs.
