Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn’s twins asked about John Stamos’ book

Many fans have shown interest in it Johannes Stamos‘ new memoir – and that includes his ex-wife’s teenage daughters, Rebecca Romijn.

“My children are 14 and they see what we see now,” says Romijn’s husband, Jerry O’Connellshared on SiriusXMs Andy Cohen Live on Monday, November 13. “There is no more hiding, there are no more limitations, there are no more things hidden from them.”

O’Connell, 49, and Romijn, 51, welcomed their daughters, Charlie and Dolly, in 2008, a year after they tied the knot. Romijn’s former marriage to Stamos, 60, is one of the biggest topics discussed in his new book, If you had told mewhich hit the shelves last month.

In the memoir, Stamos recalled “losing himself” while “lifting” Rebecca during their 10-year relationship, writing that the actress was too “busy with her career and new friends” to notice him “slipping away.”

In addition to referring to a “betrayal” that led to the end of their marriage, Stamos compared Romijn to “the devil” during their 2004 divorce, which was finalized the following year. He noted that it took “years and years” for him to gain a new perspective on the split People in October: ‘You start to think, ‘Oh, she wasn’t the devil. Maybe I was as much to blame as they were.’”

As the book’s revelations made headlines, O’Connell joked that he and Romijn whispered about it and rolled their eyes. “But it’s kind of crazy when, you know, your kids come to breakfast and say, ‘Hey mom, your ex has a book out and he’s calling you the devil.’ What are your thoughts?’” he added. “Why did he call you that?” And that’s where it gets interesting, and it is interesting. However, we have no secrets.”

O’Connell noted that he felt he didn’t need to read the book when it came out, as he and Romijn Stamos heard talk about it in a radio interview with Howard Stern. “I said, ‘Let’s listen to this,’ and I have to say, after listening to that interview, … some interest [in] reading the book disappeared,” he explained.

However, O’Connell further claimed that he has “read it in secret” and that he “has a copy that I am secretly hiding.” Host Andy Cohen didn’t seem to believe his guest’s words as he responded by saying, “No, that’s not what you’re saying.”

Also on Monday, O’Connell talked about why he postponed discussing the book The conversation. “My wife’s ex-husband recently wrote a biography that referred to my wife in a negative way,” he told viewers. “And a lot of people have asked me about that in the press, and it would be easy for me to say, ‘Fuck you! How dare you ask me that!’ But in reality it would draw attention to a situation I don’t want to participate in.”

He continued: “There are kids involved, teenage kids who read everything on the internet, so you don’t want to fuel that fire.”
