Woman-beating banker Jonathan Kaye’s well-heeled Brooklyn neighborhood erupts after viral punch: ‘When are they going to come and arrest him?’

A wealthy Brooklyn neighborhood has erupted in anger after a local investment banker was filmed punching a woman during a parade.

Angry Park Slope residents have criticized 52-year-old Jonathan Kaye for Saturday’s attack during Brooklyn’s Pride parade, footage of which has swept the Internet.

A woman who lives nearby said: ‘I can’t believe this is in my neighbourhood! When are they coming to arrest him?’

She spoke as a poster was put up shaming his actions, complete with Kaye’s phone number and the full address of his luxurious $4 million brownstone home.

Another named Christine Doyle says Kaye should be expelled from the area in an unqualified attack on his character.

She said: “Everyone else here is saying hello to their neighbors,” she told DailyMail.com.

‘They don’t say anything. They are really isolated.

‘We all know each other. But these guys have never been friendly.

‘They don’t care if you say something to them. They think they are above everything.

‘Every morning he leaves at six o’clock in his big black car. Whatever he does, I’ve always said it’s the devil’s work.”

When asked what she would say to Kaye, Doyle added: “Please leave this area because men who hit women are not welcome here.

Doyle says Kaye and his wife previously angered neighbors with noisy construction work, with the couple owning several apartments on the street that they rented out.

She added, “You know, it’s so simple and you’re going to be shunned and you already are. You don’t care if it becomes extraordinary in the future. And I also can’t wait to help this complaint and find the right attorney to sue you and seize these two brownstones. Someone decent, maybe we’ll move in.’

Kaye works as a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, a leading investment bank with offices in Midtown Manhattan. The company has initiated an investigation into the incident, a spokesperson previously confirmed to DailyMail.com.

Kaye, who lives with his wife, owns several properties in the street, which he rents to neighbors.

One said she was ‘shocked’ when she saw the footage this morning, adding that the father-of-three always seemed ‘normal’ even though she normally spoke to his wife.

Another neighbor described scenes of chaos on the usually quiet street last night as the victim’s friends ran back and forth shouting that Kaye had attacked a woman.

Kaye had barricaded himself in his home on Monday morning, but an unknown man wearing a hoodie and sunglasses sneaked into the property.

He said he didn’t live there, but didn’t say what he did.

Neighbors yelled at Kaye’s children as they entered the front door.

The banker lives in a $4 million, four-bedroom mansion in expensive Park Slope.

They told them their father was “disgusting” and demanded they leave.

Kaye is partner director and head of business services at Moelis.

In his current role, he oversees ten verticals within Moelis’ Business Services group, leading ‘a dedicated team of bankers and… an extensive network of relationships with both strategic companies and private equity investors’, according to his profile on the Moelis website.

Others watching call Kaye an ‘asshole’ and tell him to ‘fuck himself’ – which catches his attention for a moment before he abruptly walks away.

The footage, meanwhile, is short and shaky, but includes a moment where Kaye turns to the camera after knocking the woman to the ground.

Kaye walks away with a bag in one hand, a wet stain on the back of his blazer.

In one clip captioned over the footage, a user wrote: “This man punched me in the face today and broke my nose. [He also] my friends arrested[sic] poor… can anyone find him?’

A spokesperson for his employer confirmed to DailyMail.com that Kaye is the man seen in the viral video, saying it has already led to an investigation.

“We have become aware that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8,” a Moelis representative said, as the 12-second clip continues to gain traction online.

“We are taking this matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation,” she added.

The context of the punch-up is still unclear.
