Jos Peck is not okay by Amy Schumer recent criticism By Joy Koy Golden Globes monologue.

“I took issue with Amy Schumer, who was recently on the Dear Media podcast. She was asked about Jo Koy,” Peck, 27, said during the Thursday, February 29, episode of his “Good guyspodcast. “I feel defensive towards comedians. It’s a brotherhood, it’s a sisterhood. And she was actually critical of Jo Koy. She threw him under the bus, which was stupid because she’s a comedian. It’s like we all knowing he had a rough night, why would you still chase him a month later?

Peck noted that while he is not a “comedian” himself, his comedian friend Yannis Pappas recently shared his own insight on Koy’s controversial Globes monologue, saying he felt it captured the situation well. “[He said]“The jokes were fine, he just wasn’t confident because it was such an intimidating room and they weren’t giving him any love,” Peck recalled. “He didn’t deserve any of it [backlash].”

Koy hosted the awards ceremony in January, marking his first appearance as a presenter. In his opening monologue, he notably made a dissertation Barbie – who co-starred nominees Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling – and fellow nominees Robert de Niro, Bradley Cooper And Taylor Swift. Many of his jokes hit home, leaving both the star-studded audience and many viewers at home unimpressed.

The comedian, 52, took to the stage on Sunday, January 7, after a long search for a presenter. Koy followed in the footsteps of other comedians, including Jerrod Carmichael, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, […]

Schumer, for her part, appeared on the “Not skinny but not fatpodcast earlier this month to share her own thoughts on the awkward moment, saying Koy, 52, ultimately had a “lesson handed to him.”

“Like [the audience doesn’t] laugh, then it’s a problem,” Schumer, host of the 2022 Oscars, explained at the time. “That thing with Jo… he threw his writers under the bus and it didn’t look good. If I’m going to say a joke about someone… I’m going to make it clear. For example, I cleaned up [my jokes] Unpleasant Leonardo DiCaprio. I resolved it with these people. Because I don’t want to make that mistake.”

Despite disagreeing with Koy’s handling of things on stage, Schumer added that it “doesn’t feel good when the whole internet is mad at you,” and clarified that she “wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

While discussing Schumer’s comments Thursday, Peck’s cohost said: Ben Soffersaid he largely agreed with Peck, but thought Koy blaming his writers for the lack of laughs was the main problem.

“If you’re bombing, you don’t have to tell us you’re bombing because your writers suck,” he said. “He threw them under the bus.”

Koy, for his part, told the Los Angeles Times in an interview after the ceremony, he said it was a “rookie movie” to blame his writing team, but ultimately did not regret his jokes.

“I feel like none of you moms have watched it, and I’m kind of glad,” he told the outlet. “Oh my God. It feels good to live in this country. We can say what we want to say. Be absolutely unapologetic about it. Being able to… express your opinion.”

Koy also addressed his specific comment about Swift, 34, in which he joked about the pop star being shown around the NFL attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football games.

“The whole point of that joke was to make fun of the NFL,” Koy explained. “The nice thing about the Globes is that we don’t have to do cutaways for ratings. What hurts the most is that all I do is support Taylor, I support her [and] I like her work. I have nieces that I bought [concert] tickets for. There is no malicious intent in that joke.”
