Joy Behar is ready to end her previous feud with the former governor of New Jersey Chris Christie.

“I’m suddenly his biggest fan,” Behar, 81, joked about Christie, 61, during the Wednesday, Jan. 3 episode of the Podcast ‘Behind the Table’ presented by The view producer Brian Teta. The episode was released after Christie’s appearance The view that same day.

“I wasn’t his friend, but today I am his friend,” Behar continued. “An enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Behar was referring to Christie’s public criticism of the former president Donald Trump.

“Anyone who has seen the light now, like Chris Christie, now I’m on their side,” she said, adding that she is “best friends” with Christie.

“I had a lot of acrimony between me and Chris Christie,” Behar said, noting that they will continue to get along “as long as he continues to keep attacking Trump.”

Behar explained that her long-running feud with Christie began in 2014.

‘He didn’t realize that when you fry, [every guest] it’s also open season on stage, so I’ve made a lot of jokes about that [Chris]but it was right after that debacle with [Bridgegate]” Behar recalled Wednesday, referring to former New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne’s 90th birthday that year.

“I really don’t know anything about the presidency,” Behar said of Christie at the 2014 roast. “Let me put it this way, in a way that you appreciate: You’re roasted.”

Now, however, their past seems like water under the George Washington Bridge. Behar’s current friendship with Christie stems from her respect for the former politician. Behar appreciates that Christie is one of the few members of the Republican party who has done so no effort to speak out against Trump, 77.
