Kate is the ‘People’s Princess’ in the US and Meghan and Harry have NOT managed to win a majority: a DailyMail poll shows Princess of Wales is America’s favorite royal – and a third think the Sussexes should go back to Great Britain

Kate is the ‘People’s Princess’ in the US, while Harry and Meghan have failed to win over a majority of Americans since moving to the United States after leaving the royal family, an exclusive poll shows from DailyMail.com.

The Princess of Wales is the runaway royal favorite with a positivity rate of 44 percent and her husband and heir apparent, William, is in second place with 36 percent.

Harry has a score of 28 percent and Meghan lags further behind with 21 percent. The survey of 1,000 Americans was conducted between November 30 and December 1, during the global response to Omid Scobie’s book Endgame.

Dutch copies of the book by Scobie, who is labeled as the unofficial spokesperson for the couple, are mentioned The alleged ‘royal racists’ who Harry and Meghan claim raised ‘concerns’ about the skin color of their son, Archie, before he was born. Scobie initially denied responsibility for the blunder, but has now accepted that he included the names in an ‘early’ copy provided to Dutch publishers for translation.

The poll also shows that more than a quarter of Americans (26 percent) think Harry and Meghan are “too involved in American politics.” While 34 percent said the couple is involved “about the right amount,” the finding indicates that part of the country is frustrated with their public positions on certain political issues.

Pollster James Johnson of JL Partners, who conducted the survey, said: ‘Kate is the people’s princess. That is the verdict of the American public: The Princess of Wales is their top-rated royal and they vastly prefer her to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”

The findings are published today after Britain’s High Court heard Harry claim he felt ‘forced’ to leave the country and move to America with Meghan because it was ‘not possible to maintain his life’. [his children] safe’ in Britain.

His comments were read out during a lawsuit he filed against the British Home Office over its decision to scale back security arrangements after he retired from the royal family.

The poll found that 42 percent of Americans believe Harry and Meghan should remain in the United States, while 31 percent believe they should return to Britain.

The poll asked the public’s opinion on various members of the royal family and participants were given six options: very positive, quite positive, neither positive nor negative, quite negative, very negative and don’t know.

Net positivity was calculated by subtracting the percentage of fairly and very negative responses from the percentage that responded fairly or very positively.

About 43 percent of the public had a positive view of Harry, compared to 15 percent who responded negatively. For Meghan, 40 percent chose positively, while 19 percent said negatively.

The results show how they have failed to gain positive support from a majority of Americans since leaving the royal family in January 2020 and moving to California several months later.

The couple then signed a deal with Spotify worth a reported $20 million and also teamed up with Netflix under a deal worth around $100 million, including their tell-all documentary series. Harry has also released an autobiography, Spare, and the couple have tried to brand themselves as philanthropists.

In a further nod to the public’s divided opinion on Harry and Meghan, 29 percent of respondents said the couple’s statements are “generally not credible,” compared to 49 percent who said they were.

When asked what motivates Harry and Meghan, 47 percent said “doing the right thing and helping people,” while 37 percent said it was “making money and getting media attention.”

The poll comes as Scobie grapples with the fallout from his new book.

Although Endgame flopped on the bestseller charts, it sparked huge controversy after a Dutch version included two royals accused of making racist comments about the skin color of Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie.

An initial version given to Dutch translators named two senior members of the royal family, who Meghan said expressed their “concerns” about the color of her son Archie’s skin while she was pregnant. Harry and Meghan never named the royals involved, but the book claims they are Kate and King Charles.

Meghan first made the accusation in her and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

Harry and Meghan subsequently issued a statement saying it was not the late queen or her husband Prince Philip, but declined to name any members of the royal family.

Scobie’s book marked the first time they were mentioned.

Despite Scobie denying responsibility for the blunder, his British agent sent a draft manuscript of Endgame calling the two “royal racists” to be translated into Dutch, it is claimed.

Scobie subsequently acknowledged on December 8 that translators in the Netherlands had received an “early” manuscript that had never been updated with the final version, which had been reviewed by lawyers and had names removed.

The revelation contradicts Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘cheerleader-in-chief’ saying he has ‘never submitted a book containing these names’.

Further findings from the poll include that 27 percent of people think Meghan ‘makes the most important decision’ in the Sussexes’ relationship, compared to 18 percent who said Harry.

When asked to choose between two royals, the majority preferred Kate over Meghan (46 percent vs. 32 percent).

However, given the choice between Harry and William, 40 percent chose the Duke of Sussex, compared to 34 percent who chose William.

The results also show that America has a dim view of King Charles III, whose net positive rating was just eight percent.

That’s just two percentage points more than his brother Prince Andrew, who scored six percent despite his fall from grace due to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Queen Camilla scored even lower, with a score of four percent.
