A video of Kate raising a young Prince George, which resurfaced last year, led royal fans to praise the Princess of Wales’ “down-to-earth” parenting.

The clip was from the three-week royal tour of Australia in 2014, during which the royal couple – then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – visited Sydney Zoo with their firstborn.

TikTok account Royal Watcher posted a video of Prince George looking absolutely enraptured by bilbies at the zoo.

The heartwarming 10-second video shows George bouncing up and down with joy as he meets the animal named after him, with his mother supporting him.

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, the royal mother quickly reaches over and wipes away some of George’s dribble with her hand.

As the zookeeper reached for the exhibit, Kate discreetly wiped her hand on the hem of her yellow dress.

The royal fan who runs the account wrote: ‘Kate wipes Prince George’s dribble on her dress.

‘What a down-to-earth mom!’

The clip has been viewed nearly 200,000 times since it was uploaded yesterday – and fans were thrilled with Kate’s relatable parenting moment.

One wrote: ‘Lol – down to earth!’

Another added: ‘WOW she’s one of mine. I didn’t see the dribbling!’

During the engagement, Prince William was completely fearless as the bilby came up to him to eat from his hands and George also reached out to pet the creature.

However, parents protectively withdrew him.

“He’s trying to grab his ear,” Kate said.

“If he gets it, he’ll never let it go,” William said, kissing the top of his son’s head.

As the keeper tried to lure the bilby closer to George, Kate intervened to stop him, thinking this was a bad idea.

“He actually has a pretty strong grip,” she said.
