The Princess of Wales showed her love for sustainable clothing when she surprised adults working in childcare during a special set for her Together at Christmas carol service.

At a surprise festive tea party honoring those who mentor children, Kate, 41, wore a £1,350 red Miu Miu cardigan – and it’s not the first time we’ve seen it – she first debuted the knit in the promo video for her 2021 Christmas carol concert.

The mother-of-three completed her ensemble this time with matching red trousers and Cassandra Goad pearl earrings, while her auburn locks were styled in signature loose waves.

Kate’s luxurious cashmere jacquard cardigan features a checked pattern decorated with white and black roses, complemented by a detachable cotton collar.

Despite the high price tag, the design proved to be a hit among the princess’ followers and sold out quickly after her first appearance.

The cashmere garment from Italian label Miu Miu features an attractive diamond stitch in a perfectly matching scarlet color scheme.

The Peter Pan collar is removable and the white and jacquard woven roses at the back give the look an extra festive flair.

Kate debuted the cardigan in 2021 when she helped decorate Westminster Abbey ahead of her Together at Christmas carol service.

She expertly styled the design with black wide-leg trousers from Roland Mouret and heart-shaped earrings from Kiki McDonough.

Just days after the recording’s release, the item sold out in every size on the Miu Miu website, as well as Net-A-Porter and Farfetch.

The royal has been a fan of the Italian brand for a long time and not only owns the cardigan, but also a tartan coat and a clutch with a red bow, which she has worn frequently since 2016.

Yesterday Kate surprised three hardworking adults in the childcare sector with a Christmas Tea Party – in a special set to be broadcast tomorrow as part of the royal ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service.

The princess heard how they help inspire young people, accompanied by five children whose lives were shaped by mentors.

After a joyful reunion between the adults and the children they had accompanied, the princess arrived through a side door to surprise them, saying, “Sorry to disturb the party, I hope you don’t mind!”

First photos from the heartwarming clip show Brenda, a retired mental health nurse from Sussex – who volunteers at a local school – holding the princess’s hand as the pair enjoy a lively chat.

Kate also met brothers George and Henry Barnard, aged 12 and 10, who were receiving music therapy at the East Anglia Children’s Hospice, where Kate is a patron.

The royal family spoke with the brothers for 15 minutes about their love of music and said that Prince George loves the guitar, Princess Charlotte loves singing and Prince Louis is a fan of drums.

The princess then gave the boys “beautifully wrapped presents,” which they saved for Christmas Day.

She also heard from Ray, a music therapist from East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH), who has provided music therapy and support to a family after their son was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at 18 months old.

Meanwhile, Russell, a boyhood football coach in Manchester, helped a child by building his self-confidence and allowing him to pursue his passion in football.

Speaking about the surprise royal visit, he recalled: “It was just breathtaking. She took the air out of the room.”
