50 never looked so good! Kate Moss steps out ahead of star-studded party at the Ritz in Paris as she enjoys brunch with boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck, 37, and daughter Lila, 21

Kate Moss celebrated her 50th birthday in style on Tuesday as she headed for brunch with boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck and daughter Lila in Paris ahead of throwing a star-studded party at the Ritz in the evening. 

The birthday girl looked in high spirits on her day out as was spotted leaving the luxury hotel with boyfriend Nikolai, 37, and daughter Lila, 21, to grab food at the Brasserie Lipp. 

She looked fantastic on her milestone birthday as she modelled a belted black mini dress that showed off her lithe figure. 

A source told MailOnline that Kate’s swanky birthday bash has been in the planning for a long time and that she ‘can’t wait to dress up and dance the night away’, so she was no doubt counting down the hours to the soiree. 

Prior to her big night, Kate looked effortlessly chic at brunch as she teamed her little black dress with a fur coat and boosted her frame with a pair of heeled suede ankle boots. 

Kate completed the look with a pair of cat eye sunglasses with gold hooped earrings. 

By her side was boyfriend Nikolai, who kept things casual in a grey jumper teamed with a printed shirt and grey trousers. 

He finished off the look with brown boots that appeared to be well-worn favourites judging by the hole in the sole. 

Lila also kept things low-key in a cropped cream jumper and wide legged jeans that she paired with a shaggy jacket and boots. 

During the birthday brunch, Kate could be seen opening a white long-sleeved top with a black patterned print.

She admired the gift, which appeared to be from a female friend also present at the brunch.

The supermodel flew to the French capital from Oxford on a private jet that carries up to seven VIP guests ahead of her bash on Tuesday.

And it’s believed that Kate will be joined by celebrity pals including Noel Gallagher at the Ritz later on in the day.

Lila was pictured carrying heavy bags out of her London home before flying to Paris, joining her famous mother for the festivities.

Earlier in the day she shared an image of the Eiffel Tower on her Instagram story and Lila appeared excited as the build-up to the big night got officially underway.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Kate has been planning a big party at the Ritz in Paris for a long time now.

‘And finally the day has arrived and all of her close friends and family are jetting into the capital to celebrate her special day.

‘As a world famous supermodel, nobody expected anything less from Kate than to host her party at the Ritz in Paris, which is almost as fabulous as she is.

‘It will be a night to remember, she can’t wait to dress up, and dance the night away.’

MailOnline understands the private jet Kate used to fly to Paris would have cost £10,000, with the former party girl ensuring she arrived in the City of Light in style. 

Kate’s flight took off on Monday after 4pm and she landed in France shortly afterwards. 

A source added: ‘Kate loves the Ritz and always stays at the hotel when she’s in Paris.

‘She is hoping to keep her soiree as private as possible and she knows she can trust the staff there.’

Kate had a rather different pre-birthday celebration with her best friends in Mustique, which involved a beachside spiritual celebratory circle.

Lila and Sadie joined her on the getaway as well as former model Rosemary Ferguson, stylist Katy England, fashion casting director Jess Shallet, florist Flora Starkey and designer Jess Morris.

She posed in a bohemian black dress, floral crown and necklace and with no make-up on as she sat crossed-legged on the white sand underneath palm trees.

Mustique has been beloved by the jet-set since Lord Glenconner bought it in the 1960s and gave Princess Margaret a ten-acre plot as a wedding present. 

The tiny private island is a favourite of the Prince and Princess of Wales and home to rock stars Sir Mick Jagger and Bryan Adams, as well as U.S. fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.

The supermodel has a history of throwing epic birthday parties. 

When she turned 30, she threw a bash with the theme ‘Beautiful and the Damned’, which was rumoured to have ended in an orgy at Claridge’s hotel in London’s Mayfair.

Her 40th birthday consisted of a four-day Glastonbury-themed extravaganza at her country home in the Cotswolds.

And her 50th is shaping to be no different as Kate and her A-list guests descend onto the Ritz, one of the most decadent hotels in Paris.

Arriving on the modelling scene after being discovered at the tender age of 14, Kate rose to fame in the mid 1990s.

Her collaborations with Calvin Klein launched her as a household name and in 2013, she was honoured at the British Fashion Awards to acknowledge her contribution to the fashion industry over the course of 25 years.

Previously describing her happy place as on the dancefloor, Kate has since left London for the west Oxfordshire countryside where she practices transcendental meditation and goes wild swimming in a ‘secret place’ only the local villagers use.

The fashion icon also believes in the power of positive affirmations to improve one’s outlook with ’embrace the unknown’ and ‘trust the universe and it will lead the way’ being among her favourites.

Kate is now said to embrace being tee-total 80 per cent of the time, going to the gym and starting yoga sessions. 

Despite her new Gwyneth Paltrow-like lifestyle, Kate still allows herself one vice.

‘I still smoke occasionally,’ she told The Sunday Times. ‘I’ve heard that when you stop, you can really tell [by your skin]. But I haven’t stopped… yet.’

The model admitted she is in ‘denial’ about her upcoming 50th birthday because she does not feel her age.

‘I’m not turning 50,’ she said. ‘No. I’m not thinking about it. I do not feel 50.’

It marks a new era for the supermodel who has reinvented herself into a wellness guru – a far cry from her wild drug-fuelled party days.  

Kate previously joked she was in ‘denial’ at turning 50 and ‘wasn’t thinking about it’, but the fashionista has turned back the years with a series of huge lifestyle changes.

From The Tank to tea  

During the nineties and early noughties, Kate was known for emerging from clubs looking bleary-eyed with a cigarette permanently dangling from her lips as part of the Primrose Hill set. 

The name was given to the all-star group of edgy residents of the leafy neighbourhood, who were known in their heyday for their raucous behaviour with stories of their antics becoming the stuff of legend. 

Kate’s love of boozing reportedly extended to flutes of prosecco at 8am and glasses of wine and vodka at lunch, and gained her the nickname ‘The Tank’. 

After attending a week-long detox in Turkey back in June 2015, the runway sensation wound up being escorted off an easyJet flight home after her airport drinking session took a heavy turn. 

The model branded the pilot a ‘basic b***h’ in a parting shot.  

Kate ended giving up alcohol for good back in 2017. 

Nowadays, she has regular juice fasts, and favours the week-long juice-only programme at wellness LifeCo resort in Turkey — she’s visited every year for the past decade.

Drug scandal

Kate was famously dubbed ‘Cocaine Kate’ when she was photographed snorting the substance in 2005. 

At the time she was dating singer Pete Doherty, who has made no secret of his own drug use and addiction to heroin.

Following the scandal, Kate was dropped by seven companies including Chanel, Burberry and H&M, and had to work hard to regain her public image.

An iconic moment in Kate’s modelling career was when she took to the Louis Vuitton in 2011 with a cigarette in hand on No Smoking Day.

A year later, the British supermodel was part of the Olympic Games closing ceremony in London back.  

In recent years Kate opts for a healthier approach, telling NBC’s Megyn Kelly in 2018: ‘I go to bed, I drink lots of water, not too much coffee, and I’m trying to cut down on cigarettes.’

Modelling career V Wellness brand 

Kate is the proud owner of wellness business Cosmoss which sells a range of own-brand teas, skincare products and a book of 150 ‘positive messages’. 

She has a £4,000 Cadillac Pilates reformer machine at home, and personal trainer, Hortense Suleyman.

A magazine source said: ‘The brand is late on the bandwagon — candles, serums and perfume are all quite middle-aged. But she’s been having lots of meetings with people and Cosmoss is stocked in Harrods. I know she has great hopes for it.’

Collaborations are reportedly planned with departing Vogue editor Edward Enninful, who feels there is a lot of money to be made from Moss and her cachet. 

The source said: ‘She has done a spa for the [Cotswolds private rental estate] The Lakes By Yoo and the thinking is that she might be able to licence out some version of her Cotswolds’ lifestyle — she’s turned her party barn into a spa space which apparently is lovely.

‘The bottom line, which might surprise people, is that Kate wants to make another fortune. Back in the day, people would quietly complain she never put her hand in her pocket on a night out and she has always been very driven by money. 

‘Everyone says she left [model agency] Storm after 27 years because she couldn’t stand paying it the commission any more.

‘She’s bit like Mick Jagger; she’s come up from the suburbs into a kind of rarefied world of the wealthy, and she has this appetite to earn and earn.’

A first birthday party for Cosmoss was held during London fashion week in September, attended by Kate’s many friends. Guru Deepak Chopra led a guided meditation.

Yet the first accounts filed to Companies House – Kate owns 80 per cent of the shares – show net liabilities in its first trading year of £105,000 with £406,000 owed to creditors.

By contrast her model agency, simply called the Kate Moss Agency, is in rude health with net assets of £11 million. She is by far the most successful model on its books — many of the rest are the sons and daughters of her friends.

Life changes 

While Kate used to reportedly kick off her day guzzling prosecco, the supermodel is said to now start each day with meditation and the chanting of affirmations. 

Kate has also got into crystals, which she ‘charges’ by the light of the moon and goes wild swimming in the dead of night. 

Of her decision to switch up her lifestyle choices, Kate said last year: ‘I just felt like I needed all the help I could get.’ 

Moss is also close to the owners of the Health Box cafe in nearby Lechlade, where she likes to go to pick up a CBD coffee.  

Lucrative career ventures  

 

Kate bounced back a year after her 2005 drug scandal and went on to secure deals with Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Virgin Mobile as well as Longchamp, Mango and Vogue-Eyewear before making £3 million designing clothing for Topshop the following year.

In July 2022, Kate signed a huge new deal with Diet Coke following being named the new ‘creative director’ of the brand. 

The catwalk star is reportedly ‘earning up to £5million for the partnership’.

It comes after Kate was named as the new Creative Director for Diet Coke, taking the helm as the brand celebrated its 40th anniversary last year.
