Katie Holmes enjoys a solo walk in a chic brown coat, comfy sweats and sneakers in New York City as she gets ready for daughter Suri’s milestone birthday

Katie Holmes opted for stylish comfort as she took a late-night stroll in New York City on Thursday.

The 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum — who recently turned heads at the Roundabout Theater Company’s 2024 Gala — walked through the busy streets of the Big Apple while sipping from a water bottle.

The actress kept it casual and wore gray sweatpants and a fashionable tan jacket to help her stay warm in cooler temperatures.

Holmes donned a pair of $120 PONY sneakers with colorful details that easily tied with laces.

A large black leather bag was placed over her right shoulder to hold the items she would need during the excursion.

Her dark brown locks were parted in the middle and flowed effortlessly down her shoulders in natural waves.

She completed her look by wearing a pair of black shades, but opted not to add any other statement jewelry.

At one point during the outing, Katie was seen holding a black plastic bag in her right hand.

While you’re talking to Glamour last April, the First Daughter actress opened up about her sense of style — especially as someone who is often in the spotlight.

“I think we all want our sweats,” the mother of one told the outlet. “It’s a funny world because the celebrity culture and the access that exists now can be quite a distraction from who the person is.”

‘I’m an actor, so people say, “Oh, do you think about what you wear before you go to the grocery store?” No, because it’s not my job.’

‘You know what I mean? But yesterday, doing a talk show was part of my job. So yes, that’s a thing.’

Also during the interview, Holmes told the publication, “I’m enjoying it [fashion]. I mean, I enjoy the craftsmanship. I like putting things together.’

‘And I cooperate [stylist] Brie Welch, and she’s very detailed, and that inspires me. I think it’s very creative. I love vintage shopping. I love the art of design.’

Earlier this week on Monday, Katie put on a chic performance while attending the Roundabout Theater Company’s 2024 Gala, held at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York.

The star donned a sleeveless, figure-hugging black dress that was made of satin and fell just below her ankles.

Holmes donned a pair of black open-toed heels, with a white floral embellishment on top for a pop of color.

Opting for minimal accessories, she wore a pair of silver dangling earrings and a dainty bracelet on her right wrist. As a finishing touch, the beauty also added a chunky ring to her right hand.

Other celebrities also attended the event, including Vanessa Williams, Rose Byrne and Matt Dillon.

Katie has been busy and had a blast at New York Fashion Week, which took place last month in February.

The beauty appeared at several events such as the Prada Beauty Party and the Ulla Johnson Fall/Winter 2024 show.

Holmes also attended the Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2024 runway event along with other celebrities such as Blake Lively and her sister Robyn Lively.

She wowed in a sheer black ensemble made from lace material and paired the outfit with a black blazer that was left open.

Katie’s main focus is raising her look-alike daughter, Suri, 17 – who she welcomed with ex-husband Tom Cruise in 2006.

After their divorce in 2012, the Top Gun actor pays $33,000 a month in child support for Suri, but that will end once she turns 18 next month in April.

However, he will also pay his daughter’s tuition fees, DailyMail.com previously learned, despite being absent from Suri’s life since 2013.

Earlier last week, Weekly contact reported that the actress was worried about her “uncertain future” and “might make money by writing a tell-all book” when monthly child support expires.

However, her attorney Jonathan W. Wolfe made it known Radaronline that ‘the story is full of untruths.’

“One would hope that there would be more newsworthy topics to cover, and that publications would avoid reporting claims as ‘facts’ from anonymous sources making such obvious misrepresentations.”
