A pediatric nurse has revealed the most disgusting things she’s heard dads say during labor – and it’s more common than you think.
Industrial nurse Anna Pascarella has spent years assisting physicians in delivering babies and participating in postpartum care.
She recently shared some of the “crazy” things she’s heard during her career, including multiple men asking for the “husband stitch” and repeatedly insisting that childbirth “wasn’t that hard.”
One father-to-be even went so far as to ask how he could take a paternity test while his girlfriend sat in the stirrups and pushed.
Many of the ‘snarky comments’ were aimed at their partner’s body, with one man commenting that her ‘[vagina] would never look the same again afterward.

Many requested additional stitches while their partner was being cared for – which is an outdated medical practice in postpartum vaginal recovery.
It was thought that the extra suture would ‘help’ the vagina heal better with intercourse – but it simply causes pain and discomfort for the new mother with no proven sexual benefits.
Nurse Pascarella made a TikTok in which she played the role of men in the delivery room and literally repeated what she had heard some people say.
“Does it really hurt that much?” one asked, while the other insisted, “No, no, no, she doesn’t need anything for the pain.”
Many have previously shied away from expensive pre-birth painkillers – with one husband refusing to pay an $8,000 hospital bill because his wife opted for the ‘luxury’ of an epidural.
A few dads were just clueless and inconsiderate about the situation.
‘When do you think she’ll have the baby? Because I’m really hungry and I need to get something to eat,” someone asked the nurse.
‘Why does it take so long?’ another wailed.
A third yawned and complained: “My back hurts so much from sleeping on that chair,” as his wife’s epidural only worked on one side of her body.
Some punished their wives for being too ‘needy’ and ‘noisy’ during childbirth.
“Are you really trying?” someone asked as his wife was pushing and throwing up.
“You need to be quieter, you’re too loud,” said another.
A man chose his job over his family.
“I can’t hold your hand right now, I have to answer this call. I’ll be right back,” he said as he answered his ringing phone.
