The former host of The Project chose to chop off her famous locks on Monday, embracing a look she hasn’t worn in years.

Lisa took to Instagram to promote her brand new hairdo with her 350,000 followers, with the former Network 10 star complimenting her former employer, Channel Nine, in more ways than one.

Lisa’s comments left no doubt that the veteran television star was very pleased with the results.

“Good riddance,” Lisa announced proudly next to the image.

“Don’t think I’ve had it this short since the early Today show years. It feels sooo good,” she continued, before adding the hashtags #shorthairdontcare and #newbeginnings.

Lisa, who is believed to still be under contract with Network 10, chose to entrust her transformation to Channel Nine stylist Maria Maree Maree.

It comes after news that Lisa wants to return to TV screens.

The former breakfast TV darling is keen to do more ‘blockbuster interviews’ again in the new year, friends told the Weekend Australian.

Lisa quit The Project in November 2022 and despite remaining on Ten’s payroll until the end of 2024, she has not appeared on the channel since.

Despite her long hiatus from the network, Lisa has remained in the public eye through her role in the highly publicized defamation case against Bruce Lehrmann.

Friends of Lisa say her appearances worked to her advantage by giving the TV star ‘a constant stream of publicity’.

“Yes, she’s been off air for a while, but I don’t think anyone has forgotten her,” former Seven and Nine director Peter Meakin told the Weekend Australian.

“I’m sure her loyal followers will remain loyal.”
