Lotto winner’s ‘surprising’ reaction after scoring huge $1million prize

A man who won more than a million dollars in a Lotto draw says he is ‘surprisingly’ calm despite winning the huge prize.

The man, who lives in Warrawee on Sydney’s North Shore, was one of five winners to take home the Division 1 winning prize worth $1,048,013.90 on Saturday.

He said he entered the same numbers as he does every week when he buys a Lotto ticket.

Despite the huge win, the man said he didn’t let the life-changing moment get the better of him.

“Surprisingly, I’m pretty calm,” he said.

‘I’m quite private so I won’t do too much to celebrate and I think I’ll keep the news to myself.’

The man said he has no plans to spend his earnings other than using the money to pay some of his expenses.

“Bills are the first thing that comes to mind,” he said.

‘It will certainly help a lot. I don’t know what else at the moment, but I will think about it carefully.’

The winning numbers for Saturday’s draw were 22, 42, 39, 28 and 21.

The additional numbers drawn were 13 and 29.

The total division one prize pool was worth $5,240,069.50.
