TV news anchor is accused of sexting underage girl and arranging to meet – but was stunned to find out who he was actually messaging

a Louisiana TV news presenter has resigned after allegedly having sex with an underage girl.

KTBS anchor and news director Bill Lunn resigned after being accused of sending explicit photos and text messages to a 15-year-old.

He allegedly made an appointment, but was stunned to find three men on the other end of the line who said they had orchestrated the whole setup as a “predator hunter” scheme.

An investigation was launched on May 29 after Lunn called police claiming to have been the victim of an assault in Shreveport.

However, officers told KTBS after speaking to the men, they quickly discovered this was not true.

Antonio Coleman, Kameron Kennon and Kataurio Grigsby said they had been posing as teenage girls on the dating app Meet Me for weeks in an attempt to arrest suspected pedophiles.

They told the news site Myarklamiss they were shocked to learn that the person they were talking to was reportedly married Father Lunn.

“They had a conversation and he asked how old she was,” Coleman said. ‘The girl told him she was fifteen years old.

“He sent her pictures, he said he wanted to do things with her, explicit things.”

He claims the number used was the same as the number on Lunn’s LinkedIn profile.

“It’s crazy how quickly they’re willing to meet young women,” Kennon added.

The trio say they confronted Lunn, who reportedly said he had a wife and children, before fleeing the scene and calling police.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested him before letting him go without charge.

However, his electronics have been seized as part of an investigation. An internal investigation has been launched at his workplace, where he resigned from Monday.

Lunn’s lawyer Dhu Thompson said his client strongly denies wrongdoing.

“It is our preliminary understanding that this incident was not the result of a law enforcement investigation, but rather a private citizen investigation.

“Our primary concern at this time is that law enforcement authorities receive all evidence surrounding this incident so that they can make a thorough and complete assessment. Mr Lunn has cooperated with authorities and strongly denies all allegations of wrongdoing.

“It is our hope that after a thorough investigation of all the evidence surrounding this case, it will be found that Mr. Lunn is innocent and will be acquitted of all charges.”

However, it is not Lunn’s first brush with the law. In 2019, he was charged with driving under the influence.

Although he was below the legal alcohol level, he was still determined to be under the influence and was charged via a citation.

Lunn was released without charge, but his electronics are being examined as part of an investigation

Lunn joined KTBS in 2019 and was previously an anchor at KTSP, during which time he had a particularly memorable slip of the tongue during the broadcast.

The broadcaster was setting up a story about Boy Scouts during a 2013 news broadcast he wrongly said, “I pledge allegiance to the fagot.”

Lunn quickly issued an apology, taking to Twitter to apologize for the mistake and to assure his fans that he bears no ill will towards the gay community – but only after initially laughing about it, much to the ire of some of his Twitter followers followers.

His Instagram bio states that he is a “journalist, author, father, fisherman, guitar picker” who is “Saved by Grace.”
