The ladies' Instagram feeds are bursting with the same clever selfie that science claims can attract men like flies.

The seductive pose sees the women leaning forward in tiny bikinis and barely-there dresses to show off their stunning figures, steal the hearts of Love Island fans and entice bombshell boys to team up and win the £50,000 prize to win.

So how does the 'Love Island lean' enchant men and can it help us single girls get a partner?

Yes, says body language expert and author of The Future of Body Language, Carole Railton.

“You may not realize it, but the way you pose for photos can send secret messages,” she says. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it's the science that really makes you sexy.”

From fake waist to face sculpting and a magical angle, Carole unravels the mesmerizing science behind Love Island's leaning selfie…

By sticking your butt out and arching your back, you'll create some serious appeal in photos.

Studies claim it's an evolutionary hack – dating back thousands of years – that tells men you're ready to get intimate.

It could explain why some men love ladies with stilettos, or are tempted to twerk.

Carole says: “Men seem to be more attracted to women who arch their back slightly. The pose suggests that you are relaxed and therefore more approachable.

“Meanwhile, a stiff, straight back shows confidence and strength – a turn-on for some, but intimidating for others.”

When you push your body towards the camera, chiseled cheekbones pop and your eyes pop.

By leaning forward, you not only show off your best features for the camera, but you also say to potential partners, “I'm interested in you.”

Carole says, “If you lean toward someone, he or she is more likely to listen.

“This is what professional speakers do on stage to keep their audience hooked, and it can also work to attract your love interest.

“Be wary of your posture when you lean forward – rounded shoulders are a turn-off and can add years to your age.”

Attraction to the chest

Big breasts or not, pushing your chest out creates the illusion of a slimmer waist and gives your ego a big boost.

Self-confidence is contagious, and men can't help but get your attention.

Carole says: “A figure with a slim waist – illusion or not – is an indicator that you are fertile, and there is a huge amount of underwear designed to enhance this image.

“Have fun and see which shapes suit you.”

Keep your chin up

Avoid any chance of a double chin by raising the camera above eye level.

Research shows that when people take a photo of themselves from above, they are perceived as more attractive – and for good reason.

Carole says: “A higher camera angle gives people a truer view of your face than a straight shot, where the focus is on your nose sticking out of your face.

“It also gives the illusion of a longer, slimmer neck – a sign of elegance and grace.

“Many tribal women stretch their necks to achieve this and enchant a man.”

The right angle

Everyone has a 'best' side in front of the camera, but research shows that tilting to the right is the path to romance.

According to a study, people in photos were considered more attractive if their heads were tilted to the right and 15 degrees.

Carole says: “The left side of the body is feminine. By tilting your head to the right, you show more of your feminine side – it's a well-known trick to attract the opposite sex.

“This angle suggests that you are open and interested, giving potential partners the confidence to make a move.”
