Uttar Pradesh viral news: In a macabre scenario straight out of a horror movie, two sisters were found living with their mother’s corpse for almost a year in the Lanka area of Varanasi district in Uttar Pradesh. An official said neighbors became suspicious and alerted police after the two women had not left their home for more than a week.

A senior official said the woman had died in December last year but instead of performing her last rites, the daughters of the deceased kept her cadaver locked in a room in their house in Mandarwa town of Lanka.

“52-year-old Usha Tripathi 52, a resident of Madarwa, Samenghat, died last year after a prolonged illness,” Lanka Station House Officer (SHO) Shivakant Mishra said, adding that the deceased woman’s husband had bought the house two years ago left and had not done so. coming home even after the death of his wife.

Usha’s two daughters Pallavi Tripathi (27) and Vaishvik Tripathi (18) did not cremate the body after their mother’s death and kept it locked in the room, he said.

Both had not left the house in the past week and the door remained closed, raising suspicion among neighbors who knocked on the door, but when the door did not open they notified police, the officer said.

After information about the incident was obtained, a police team was deployed to the spot and an investigation was initiated.

However, the police knocked on the door, when no one answered and it was discovered that the door was locked from the inside, the officers broke the door open and entered the property. Upon entering the room, the police team was shocked to discover the decomposed corpse of the deceased woman on the floor, while her daughters were also found next to their mother’s cadaver in the same room, the police said.

The official said police have taken both daughters into custody and the incident is under investigation.
