Still, the former president was not impressed.

The Turning Point USA event was for Trump to answer questions — giving the ex-president extra ammunition to take on Biden, citing the Democrat’s rare news conferences.

‘I’m not like Joe, tell me who’s going to – He has a press conference that lasts about two minutes and he says like this, he reads a card, “eh NBC Jim, Jim”, and then they ask him a question and then he takes the same paper and reads the answer,” Trump said. “They never do that with me.”

“Is anyone going to watch the debate with this character?” Trump then added.

“Frankly, we should have a lot of debates,” the ex-president said, before returning to the topic of immigration.

When it came to the question and answer portion – which Trump said he rarely does because it can get a bit “sloppy” – he was asked how he could stop drugs from flowing into the country.

“You look good, look at that guy, he looks like a Wall Street banker,” Trump said when a questioner asked if his children could live the same kind of life he did.

Trump talked about how he planned to expand law enforcement.

When another man asked about border security — and people coming from “dangerous” countries, Trump continued talking about how he planned to impose tariffs on China.

He said it was easier to “stop it at the source” and then wage a “battle at the border,” claiming that Chinese President Xi Jinping would be willing to stop the illegal trade in fentanyl.

At one point, Trump brought out props after a woman asked about high grocery prices.

He showed the audience normal Tic Tacs and then a small version, saying that inflation did that.
