She paired linen pants and a black turtleneck with beige runners and a black shoulder bag.

Makeup free, the acclaimed actress, 54, showed off her flawless and porcelain complexion.

The blonde beauty pulled her short locks back and off her face into a low bun and carried a UNHCR bag over one arm.

She appeared relaxed and cheerful as she was escorted through check-in and to the departure gate by an airport employee.

Cate and her playwright Andrew Upton, 57, have properties in both Australia and the UK.

She told the Courier Mail she is ashamed to admit what she does for a living when she is in the countryside.

“The worst thing for us as actors in Australia is getting in the back of a taxi and asking a taxi driver ‘what are you doing? Because you think, “Oh, God…”‘ she said.

“You have to constantly fight for space or justify your right to actually be an artist in Australia.”

She added that overseas actors are more appreciated and she gains appreciation for Australia’s many talented stars with an outside perspective.

“Still, our culture is celebrated, sung and praised abroad, but internally we don’t often do that,” Cate told the publication.

“We often don’t know what we have here. And living and working abroad, I can see absolutely objectively what we have here.’
