A BEAUTY influencer's controversial make-up trick has left people confused.
Although she thinks the combination creates a flawless makeup base, many believe it was a disaster in the making.
Swara (@by.swara) shared the beauty tip in a video with her Instagram followers.
A follower came up with the idea after having great success blending their foundations to achieve a dewy glow.
“I mixed my foundation with Vaseline and everyone was like, 'What's on your skin? It looks so natural like real glass skin,'” they wrote.
After trying it out for herself, Swara said she understood what the hype was about.
She blended in $1.79 Vaseline with her foundation of choice, apply the mixture with a brush and reveal the final look.
“Mix Vaseline and foundation to get the perfect base,” she said.
While Swara loved the makeup trick, many had mixed opinions on how safe it was.
“Perfect base for clogged pores,” said one disgruntled commenter.

“Crying about oily skin. That would clog my pores so much,” said another.
Some thought that although it looked great upon application, the Vaseline would destroy the longevity of the foundation.
“Girl, that's a recipe for disaster,” said one viewer.
A few thought that the mileage of the trick may vary for the right user and skin type.
“Vaseline is non-comedogenic, but it does retain moisture in your skin, so as long as your face is clean, Vaseline won't clog your pores or make you break out,” said one commenter.
“But again, this will vary from person to person, so do a patch test before doing this.”
