Mama June Shannon shares an update on Anna Cardwell’s terminal cancer

Mama June Shannon asks for “continued prayers” over her daughter Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell‘s stage IV cancer battle.

“I’m posting this because so many people are reaching out to us, whether it’s myself or not [to] the girls. “I just want to let you all know that there have been some changes in our lives over the past few weeks that are completely out of our control,” Shannon, 44, said on Friday, December 8. video posted on her TikTok and Instagram. “God has all faith [and] holds all the cards, but Anna is still with us.

She continued, “As we go through this transition, we ask for continued prayers for Anna, continued prayers for the family, continued thoughts and appreciation, even if we do not respond to your messages.”

Shannon noted that she plans to “log off” from social media until “that time comes,” seemingly referring to Cardwell, 29, passing away.

“We will reach all of you on social media, because Anna wouldn’t want to do it otherwise,” Mama June promised. “But we love you and [I ask] that you as a family continue to pray for us.”

In March, news broke that Cardwell, one of Shannon’s four daughters, had been diagnosed with adrenal carcinoma three months earlier. Since then, she has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy.

“This chemo treatment was a little different,” Shannon shared exclusively We weekly in May. ‘She sleeps more. It was quite tough this round. I can imagine that if I feel like her mother, she also feels like someone who has to live with it day in and day out.”

Shannon further noted that she and her husband Justin Stroud, whom she married in 2022, has been at Cardwell’s bedside along with her other daughters during her health scare. “The people who are only here are me, Justin, Pumpkin, Alana [and] her boyfriend and Jessica,” Mama June said. “No one else is here for Anna, no one else goes to treatment, no one else goes to her house.”

Cardwell’s own two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, spend as much time as possible with their mother. Mama June told me Us that Kaitlyn, 11, is “more affectionate,” while Kylee, 8, “is still just too young to really understand what’s going on.” (Anna shares her children with ex-husband Michael Cardwell.)
