A man has been arrested for attempting to have sex with a tree after horrified sunbathers saw him undress before kissing and rubbing the stump.
Police were called to the strange encounter on Tuesday in Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Salisbury, Wiltshire, as temperatures soared across the country.
The public became concerned about the man’s behavior when he suddenly exposed himself and started rubbing his body against the bark.
Video footage shows the man kicking off his blue shorts and his navy T-shirt before hugging the tree.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and was released on bail while the investigation is ongoing.

A witness said, “I was just walking in the park with one of my friends and we saw a man hugging a tree and thought it was interesting.
“We walked closer and as we did we saw his pants down and this is pure gold.
That’s why I started recording and he just started taking off all his clothes and kissing the tree.
“After I stopped recording, the police showed up and started following the man and then arrested him.”
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: ‘A man in his 40s was arrested yesterday on suspicion of indecent exposure after officers were called to Queen Elizabeth Gardens shortly after 4.30pm following several reports from members of the public of a naked man.
“He has been taken into custody and has been released on bail while the investigation is ongoing.”
