Norah Head drowns: Man dies after being pulled unconscious from surf on NSW beach

A man has died in a surfing accident on a beach after being found unconscious in the water.

Emergency services rushed to Cabbage Tree Harbour, near Norah Head on the NSW central coast, about 9.45am on Wednesday after first responders were notified that a beachgoer had gotten into trouble.

Paramedics and Surf Life Savers performed CPR on the man, but he could not be saved.

The man’s identity is not yet known, but he is said to be in his 70s.

Officers from the NSW Police Force are investigating the incident and the cause leading to the man’s death.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
