Married Alec Baldwin raised eyebrows among fans when he called Barbra Streisand – and not his wife Hilaria – the “hottest woman ever.”

The actor, 65, who shares seven children with Hilaria, 39, complimented Streisand, 81, on a resurfaced video of her 1965 performance of Lover, Come Back To Me.

He wrote: ‘My God. This is the hottest woman. Ever.’

Shocked fans quickly took to the comments section with one writing: ‘hotter than the woman????’ while another references Streisand’s Jewish faith and Hilaria’s infamous 2020 Spanish heritage scandal: “(Hilaria suddenly discovers she’s Jewish).”

Another wrote: ‘Hillary read this somewhere and wished she had pretended to be Jewish instead of Hispanic.’

Hilaria certainly “curated” a different culture for her public persona than the one based on reality.

Before 2020, she claimed to have been born in Mallorca, Spain, and only moved to the United States to study, but it was later discovered in a massive public reckoning that Baldwin was born Hilary Thomas and was actually from Boston.

Although she never directly mentioned the scandal in her Instagram post, it was clear what she was referring to, especially towards the end when Hilaria laid out some options for critics.

“People who don’t have your life experience can: 1. accept it and move on 2. be curious and want to learn 3. connect and find similarities they can identify with. What they should not do is devalue,” she wrote.

“You are valid, worthy and you don’t have to explain or get involved in the awkward ‘prove it’ conversation. You don’t owe anyone that. Just be a good, kind person of this earth,” the yoga instructor continued, although in this case it was unclear who the royal “you” was.

“We need to normalize the fact that we are all unique: our culture, languages, sexual orientation, religions and political beliefs are allowed to BE FLUID,” Hilaria said. ‘None of us are quite the same. People will try to find a reason to invalidate you, which is why their attacks seem justified in their eyes.

Both Hilaria and Alec claimed English was her second language for more than a decade, and a viral clip showed the yoga instructor appearing to forget the English word for “cucumber” during a cooking portion.

“You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s dedication in her decade-long relationship pretending to be a Spaniard,” the tweet said.

However, it was revealed that she had affluent multi-generational ties to Massachusetts on both sides of her family and that her parents Kathryn Hayward and David Thomas only moved to Mallorca, Spain in 2011.

The couple’s wedding had a lot of Spanish accents, so she was able to bring “a little.” [her] culture,” she said in 2012. Hilaria held a flamenco fan in her hands and they read their wedding in both languages, and their wedding rings even had the inscription “somos un buen equipo.”

In addition, she had chosen to give all six of their children Spanish names: Carmen, seven, Rafael, five, Leonardo, four, Romeo, two, Eduardo, nine months, and Marilu, four months.

After much online criticism, Hilaria tried to clear things up in an Instagram video, confessing, “Yes, I’m a white girl, my family is white,” while clarifying that she grew up “in this country.”
