Manchester City chief Fowler had even more reason to celebrate on Tuesday when she was named in the Olympic squad ahead of the Paris Games in July.

It will be Fowler’s second Games after her performance in Tokyo in 2021, where the Matildas finished fourth.

Cleary and Fowler have been an item since at least November last year, after Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed photos of the pair enjoying a cuddle in a Perth park ahead of the Matildas’ Olympic qualifier.

They first attracted attention as a potential couple when they were spotted together on a leisurely walk along the Nepean River near Penrith in Sydney’s west.

The pair were then seen sharing an ice cream after a promotional event hosted by Adidas, a brand that both athletes endorse.

Both athletes are said to be very private when it comes to their relationships, and Cleary admitted that the intense focus on his personal life in recent months was something he didn’t expect.

“It’s definitely different from when I was young when I went into first grade and people would dissect my game. “I’ve never had that before,” he said.
