Maxine Waters claims Trump supporters are ‘domestic terrorists’ who are ‘preparing for civil war against the US’
California Democrat Maxine Waters raised eyebrows on Sunday with claims about former president’s supporters Donald Trump after being found guilty by a New York jury in his “hush money” trial.
Waters appeared on MSNBC and host Jonathan Capehart warned that the former president and his supporters pose a dangerous threat to the country.
“I’m afraid he’s so divisive and he’s talking about retaliation, and they’re talking about revenge, and I think that’s dangerous. He even talked about a civil war at one point and talked about there being bloodshed,” Waters said.
She said she would raise her concerns with federal law enforcement to be prepared for the violence unleashed by Trump and his supporters if he does not win the November election.
“I’m going to spend some time with the criminal justice system, with the justice system, and ask them, tell us what’s going on with the domestic terrorists,” she said. ‘Are they preparing a civil war against us? Should we worry about our safety?’

Waters said Trump was a criminal and accused him of being someone “who disrespects the Constitution and democracy,” arguing that he and the “domestic terrorists” who supported him were already trying to take over the government. 6 January.
‘This is not good for this country. But he doesn’t care about democracy, he doesn’t care about the Constitution of the United States,” she said. “He’s in love with Putin and Russia and Kim Jong-un and North Korea.”
Waters’ comments echoed earlier concerns she shared in May about Trump supporters’ security training for a civil war if the election did not go in his favor.

“I want to know about all these right-wing organizations he’s connected to that are training in the hills somewhere and targeting the communities they’re going to attack,” she said on MSNBC.
Waters has long been in favor of taking Trump to court, predicting that porn star Stormy Daniels was the way to get there.
On Thursday, Waters celebrated the verdict on social media.
‘Hallelujah!!! My predictions have come true!’ she wrote. “I predicted three years ago during a speech with the Human Rights Campaign that Stormy Daniels would be the one to get Trump, my confidence in the criminal justice system has been strengthened!”
