In the latest conflict between hip-hop superstars Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj, a Texas-based cemetery where Megan's late mother is buried says security has been stepped up to protect her grave amid growing conflict between the artists and their fan bases.

That's what officials at the cemetery in the Lone Star State said TMZ On Tuesday, they contacted local police and increased security at the facility, the final resting place of Megan's mother Holly Thomas, who died in 2019 after a battle with brain cancer.

Officials told the newspaper that “nothing has happened to the grave” and that the aim is to prevent anything from happening.

According to TMZ, a portion of Minaj's fan base called the Barbz “leaked the location of Holly's burial site on social media… and encouraged others to start desecrating her grave” in the feud between the two musical artists.

The latest chapter in the conflict began earlier this month after Minaj made a comment about Megan's late mother, saying Megan “better get your mom out and apologize” after a perceived slight stemming from a text in her song Hiss.

Minaj's fans cited Megan's latest lyrics as possible criticism of people in Minaj's life who have been convicted of sex crimes in the past, including her husband Kenneth Petty and brother Jelani Maraj.

Minaj later said her comments about Megan's mother were the result of her anger over the lyrics, according to TMZ.

Minaj released a diss track aimed at Megan on Sunday, titled Big Foot, in which she insinuated that her rival artist had secretly undergone cosmetic surgery.

Lyrics in the song include: “Eh, why did you lie about your lipo?/ F**kin' your best friend, the man's crazy, but you're the type.”

Minaj promoted the single's release with a shot of Megan against a heeled boot standing in a huge footprint.

An insider close to Minaj told Dailymail.com on Monday that the veteran music artist is ready to continue pushing Megan amid their feud.

“I know Nicki seems to be in the wrong right now because she went there,” a source said, “but she's not apologizing and we're only seeing what they're showing the public.”

The source said that “things are even worse behind the scenes,” explaining details about the rift between the stars.

“Megan has formed an alliance with Cardi B to talk about Nicki, but Nicki has been in the game much longer than either of them,” the source said. “Nicki told Megan to sit down and respect those who paved the path for her.”

The source said Minaj was deeply offended by the references to her family members in Megan's track Hiss.

“Megan came for Nicki's husband and brother, and in the worst way,” the source said. “So Nicki responded by taking it up a level. If Megan wants to keep this going, it's going to get extremely ugly – even worse than it already is.”
