A mother who dreamed of having a large family was left with both fallopian tubes removed after a hospital had confused her ectopic pregnancy for a miscarriage.

Melbourne Few Liz and Mouhamad Darwish were enthusiastic when they discovered that they were expecting their fourth child at the beginning of 2022.

The mother was rushed to the Sunshine Hospital, also in western Melbourne, where doctors asked if she was pregnant.

Mrs. Darwish now takes legal action against Western Health, the owner of both Bacchus Marsh and Sunshine Hospitals.

The couple claims that the medical blunder has robbed them of their plans to expand their families.

“That choice and that decision has been removed and that is what is difficult,” said Mrs. Darwish.
