Michael B. JordanThe recent car accident in Los Angeles is reportedly being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department after a video of the accident went viral.
“Michael B. Jordan crashes in Hollywood while racing another Ferrari,” an Instagram caption claimed. In the videoposted on Wednesday, December 13, Jordan’s blue Ferrari is seen driving next to a red Ferrari before the actor apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked car.
According to Friday, December 15 report from TMZthe LAPD wants to prove that Jordan, 36, “was behind the wheel of the racing Ferrari.” If law enforcement finds “criminal culpability” in their investigation, they can “refer the case to prosecutors for possible charges,” according to TMZ’s report.
Jordan was behind the wheel of his Ferrari on December 3 when he crashed into a parked Kia. The LAPD called the incident a “traffic collision of a vehicle against a parked car.” [car]” in a statement at the time, noting that there were no signs of foul play or evidence of drunk driving.
The LAPD also confirmed that no arrests were made at the scene, noting that Jordan and the Kia driver did exchange information. Photos of the accident showed the right fender and one tire of Jordan’s car were torn.
The video of the accident, originally shared on Wednesday, has since been reposted on various social media platforms. For his part, Jordan has not yet spoken publicly about the incident.
Tenshi angelthe driver of the red vehicle in the video, spoke Entertainment tonight about the incident on Friday, noting that he was “just shaking” when the blue Ferrari crashed into the side of his vehicle.
“We were just kind of pacing around. This was before the shooting was about two blocks away,” Angel recalled. “We were just cruising. And then – I think it was like the next block, about halfway through – we revved the engines a little bit, and once we got to the next block, we were like, ‘Oh.’ Horn[ed] three times. I took off and that’s what happened.”
Angel went on to say that they were “revving engines” but “weren’t going fast at all.” He noted that the cars “weren’t exactly next to each other” when the accident happened.
“He was kind of behind me, maybe I want to say like a foot,” Angel explained. “When you’re in those types of cars … it’s sometimes hard to see.”
Angel recalled “picking up speed” in his car before noticing the other Ferrari “wasn’t there anymore.” He added: “Then I slowed down.”
If he had known Jordan had crashed, Angel said he would have “stopped to help him.” He added: ‘I thought he was turning the corner or something and maybe didn’t want to go. I just kept going.”
