Astonishing video footage shows moment a crashed car is suspended in the air by gushing water from fire hydrant

Stunning video footage has captured the moment a crashed car is left suspended in the air by water from a fire hydrant.

The rescued first responders assisted the occupants of the vehicle after an accident California left one car hanging in the air.

Members of the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to a traffic accident call in Lake Forest on June 8, just before 6:30 a.m.

The OCFA wrote in a X message yesterday that it happened at Jeronimo Road and Heidi Avenue, and the caller believed people were still in the vehicles.

One of the cars collided with a fire hydrant and was left suspended seven to eight feet in the air due to “the significant pressure” of the water.

Both drivers managed to get out of the vehicles before the ambulance arrived, but one required “paramedical attention.”

What started as a report of “a traffic accident” later became “a traffic accident cut-and-rescue emergency call,” used when there is a possibility that someone may need to be removed from a vehicle.

After the two drivers were taken to the hospital, OCFA and other officials remained in the area.

“The fire department on scene continued to work to isolate the water main on either side of the fire hydrant,” the OCFA wrote in its message.

“This lowered the car and eventually allowed firefighters to access the water trap next to the car.”

The OCFA also credited the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lake Forest in the X post for assisting first responders.

X users have left comments on the issue on the post of the OCFA, some of which came from people who persisted that the car could not park at the fire hydrant.

One called it a “thorough undercarriage wash,” while another compared the suspended car to a “Universal Studios” ride.

A third said: ‘I was so many years old today when I heard there was such a thing as an autobidet.’
