Natalie Bassingthwaighte has surprised fans by stepping out hand-in-hand with a former lover, just days after her romance with girlfriend Nicola Ossher was revealed.

The Rogue Traders singer, 48, who opened for Christina Aguilera at the Always Live festival at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, took to Instagram after the show with a video giving a glimpse into her complex new love life.

One clip showed Natalie arriving at the location holding hands with Pip Loth, a director and production technician who identifies as non-binary.

Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that Natalie and Pip are former lovers and long-time friends, having worked together on the Melbourne production of Jagged Little Pill in 2021.

Pip, who reportedly traveled to Melbourne to see Natalie perform at Always Live, looked delighted at the singer as the pair laughed and strolled side by side.

Natalie was also cheered on by her daughter Harper, 13, during the show.

The sighting came days after Daily Mail Australia exclusively identified Natalie’s new girlfriend as Nicola Ossher.

Nicola, a single mother and talented drummer, lives a short drive from the Rogue Traders singer’s home in Byron Bay.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday while walking her dog in Tweed Heads, NSW, Nicola Ossher modestly admitted: ‘We have a long friendship – and that’s all I’m going to say.’

The drummer for corporate events band Jazz Factory spoke out after Neighbors star Bassingthwaighte admitted she was now in a same-sex relationship.

Bassingthwaighte said her new love “makes my heart smile” following her split from husband Cameron McGlinchey last year after 11 years of marriage.

By an intriguing coincidence, he is also a drummer, just like her new love.

“I think this was ‘step one’ for Nat in sharing her story,” a close friend from Byron Bay told Daily Mail Australia.

“‘Step Two’ will talk more candidly about her relationship with Nicola.”

Ossher and Bassingthwaighte were spotted together at The Farm restaurant Byron Bay on Sunday where Jazz Factory was playing when the affair came to light.

On Tuesday, Ossher told Daily Mail Australia she had known Bassingthwaighte for years, and also knew husband Cameron, who was the drummer in Rogue Traders.

“We have a great friendship,” the mother of one said.

In August it was revealed that Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Cameron McGlinchey had 'quietly ended their marriage' late last year and were 'amicably working together to raise their two children together' (pictured)

‘We have known each other for years. I’ll leave it at that. I think you should leave her alone; her private life is her own.”

Bassingthwaighte’s close friend said: ‘The Byron community is quite small and these two women met through mutual friends… their relationship is new and there are a lot of hurdles they have to jump through as they figure out if it can work.

‘Jokes have been made about Cameron being a drummer and so is Nicola. What are the chances?’

Bassingthwaighte made her shocking love life announcement on the Stellar podcast and revealed she told husband Cameron, 48, first.

“I am in a beautiful relationship with a woman who makes my heart smile and makes me very happy,” she said.

She and Cameron were pictured with Ossher and partner Nerida Groth – with whom she shares a six-year-old son – at a 2022 event.

As media interest in her split from her ex-partner increased, Natalie said she immediately called Cameron ‘hysterically’ fearing she would get out.

“He said, ‘It’s okay. This is your truth and you have to sit and stand in it now and own it,” she revealed.

The mother of two added, “So it was nothing short of beautiful to have that support from him, and I’m very grateful for it.”

‘Now I can speak from my own mouth, about my own truth, and that gives me satisfaction. I’m doing well. Everything’s fine, and everyone’s fine.’

In August, it was revealed that Natalie and Cameron had ‘quietly ended their marriage’ late last year and were working “amicably to raise their two children together.”

The couple, who married in 2011, share daughter Harper, 13, and son Hendrix, 10.

Bassingthwaighte’s close friend told Daily Mail Australia: ‘They never really had a conventional relationship.

‘They both placed the children in a happy home and were able to come and go, sharing parenting and other responsibilities.

“The way they’ve been able to remain friends is impressive.”

In 2020, the family moved from Melbourne to the town of Byron Bay in NSW before lockdown began.

A representative for Natalie confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the singer had sold her Melbourne home to move to Byron Bay.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Natalie chose to rent in the seaside town.

Although it is not known how much their Melbourne property sold for, the couple had originally bought it at auction for just over $2.5 million a decade ago.
