NEET UG 2024 Syllabus: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will test the National Eligibility and Admission Test – Undergraduate NEET (UG) – 2024 on May 5, 2024. The exam will be conducted at various exam centers in pen and paper mode in 13 languages. NEET, the toughest and largest medical entrance examination is conducted in all medical institutions for admission to medical school. According to the TOI report, the NTA will announce a rationalized syllabus for the undergraduate medical exam this week. Meanwhile, the online registration for submitting the application form is likely to commence in January 2024.

The reports further suggest that the new syllabus will be based on inputs from the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Indian regulatory body, and after consultations with various boards that have rationalized their higher secondary syllabus during the deadly pandemic – COVID-19 . “NTA will announce the NEET-UG syllabus next week so that it will help students in preparation. It will be a shortened syllabus. The students will be given more than six months to plan their studies for the entrance test,” NTA director general Subodh Kumar Singh told TOI.

The syllabus will be rationalized keeping in mind the syllabus downsizing implemented by various education boards in response to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. NCERT and CBSE have scrapped the large portions for classes 9 to 12 in response to the pandemic. In 2020, the current batch of Class 12 was in Class IX when rationalization of the syllabus was initiated. However, the syllabus for competitive exams such as NEET-UG and Joint Entrance Examination (Main) had remained unchanged so far.
