Mayor Eric Adams “vigorously” denies claims that he sexually assaulted a woman in 1993 while serving as an NYPD captain. He insists he “forcefully” met the woman who now accuses him of the attack and is asking for $5 million in damages.

The unidentified accuser filed a summons in civil court late last night accusing Adams of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when they both worked for the city. It was first reported by The messenger.

Adams was 33 at the time and working as a captain in the NYPD.

Details of the allegations have not yet been made public, but a City Hall spokesperson told DailyMail.com today that Adams does not know the woman.

‘The mayor doesn’t know who this person is. If they ever met, he can’t remember.

“But he would never do anything to cause bodily harm to anyone else and vehemently denies any such claims,” they said.

Adams himself appeared to shake off the scandal while appearing at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

He took selfies with female spectators and then wrote on Twitter: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”

The subpoena serves as notice of an ongoing lawsuit, in which more details about the alleged incident will be released.

“Plaintiff was sexually assaulted by Defendant Eric Adams in New York, New York, in 1993 while they both worked for the City of New York,” according to the paperwork filed last night.

The plaintiff took advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act to file on the last day of eligibility. The law allows victims of historical sexual crimes to file a claim within 20 years of their occurrence.

The NYPD Transit Bureau and the Guardian Association are also named as suspects.

Adams is already under intense scrutiny for campaign donations, and last week he was criticized for massive budget cuts to the NYPD, which will reduce the number of officers on the streets by thousands more.

It is already at one of its lowest staffing levels in decades. The proposed cuts will shrink this number to 29,000 by 2025 – the lowest since the 1990s – in a city of 8.5 million inhabitants.

Earlier this month, the FBI raided the home of one of Adams’ campaign managers as part of a donation investigation.

Agents are investigating whether his team accepted illegal donations from Turkey.

He maintains no harm was done and is cooperating with the investigation.
