To make matters worse, the back door to her garden was also drafty, letting in all the cold air from outside.

But the clever woman decided to do something about it when she found a brilliant £12 purchase.

She said on social media: “I'm lucky enough to have a spacious kitchen in my house, but it doesn't have a radiator and in the winter months my side door lets the chill in… So I came up with an idea.”

The DIY expert revealed that the only tool you need is an electric drill as she got started.

She first bought a curtain from Dunelm, specifically the Thermal curtains which keep the heat in and are heavy enough to keep out draughts.

While Parisa paid £24 for hers when they were marked down from £30, they are currently available for just £12 on Dunelm's website.

She also needs a curtain rod to complete her DIY task, which she bought for £11.99 from Amazon.

Parisa first started by marking where the post would sit on her back door and then began drilling the curtain rod into the wall.

She then attached the thermal curtains to the pole so that she could keep as much cold air out of her home as possible when the curtain was closed.

“I love that it fits well with the theme of my home and is also practical,” she added.

“It really took the chill out of the garden.”

To complete the transformation, Parisa added some electric LED lights to the door frame, as well as a curtain tie so she could pull back the thermal curtain when needed.

According to the product description, it is perfect for both the cooler and warmer months.

It says: “A timeless touch to your home that will look good for years to come. Blackout curtains aren't just for sleeping.

“They also provide privacy and an elegant finishing touch to any window, make a room feel larger and can help you save energy (and money) by keeping heat in in the winter and cool air in in the summer.”

The clip posted to the TikTok account @Parisax_ has since gone viral with over 30,000 views.

People were quick to share their thoughts on the winter warming hack in the comments.

One person wrote: “Well done. Proud of you.”

Another commented, “I did this in my living room because we have a door that leads to our back porch and it was so cold we did this and it literally helped so much.”

“A brilliant idea, isn't it, and relatively cheap,” Parisa replied.

“I think it looks great, but if you get a much bigger plant it will make the space look even better,” wrote a third.

Someone else added: “So cute!”
