The society wedding of the year between Olivia Henson and Britain’s most eligible bachelor, the Duke of Westminster, was nothing short of stately and was the talk of the town.

Much has been made of the grand occasion when the Duchess and her billionaire husband Hugh Grosvenor sealed their marital bliss at Chester Cathedral today.

Olivia, 31, looked ethereal in a custom-made dress by London-based designer Emma Victoria Payne. She paired the dress with a veil and the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara, made for Grosvenor brides to wear on their wedding day.

And while all eyes were on the blushing bride, her charming groom and their special guests – including… Prince William – a certain trio has also made its mark.

One of the main roles of the day was her adorable flower girls; her husband’s three nieces, Zia Snow, 14, Isla van Cutsem, nine, and Orla Snow, also nine.

Isla van Cutsem was born almost ten years ago to the Duke’s eldest sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, and her husband Edward Van Cutsem. The couple also shares two sons.

Meanwhile, much-loved BBC historian Dan Snow and Lady Edwina Grosvenor share daughters Zia Orla.

The cousins worked together to lend a hand to their aunt’s billowing wedding dress, which at one point almost took off in the high winds.

The girls showed determination and determination as they stayed by Olivia’s side and took on the role of her trusted helpers.

The Duke’s nieces also held their own on the fashion front as they all wore beautiful, identical white dresses with subtle green details.

They paired their dresses with black velvet pumps with large bows in the center. Flower garlands worn by each of them added the perfect touch.

Prince William also performed duties at the wedding of the Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson, who attended as an usher.

The Prince of Wales was pictured waving to the cameras as he arrived for the service at Chester Cathedral.

But his brother Harry, also one of Hugh Grosvenor’s closest friends, was not present and chose to stay in California.

An insider said this week that it would have been ‘difficult’ for Harry to attend, and that the decision not to attend was an ‘understanding between the two friends’.

The Duke of Westminster is the godfather of William’s son Prince George and Harry’s son Archie.

No fewer than 400 guests attended the wedding, which had been anticipated in social circles for months.

Olivia, 31, looked stunning in her dress and blue shoes as she arrived at the 11th century cathedral just before midday.

The custom embroidery design on her dress and veil was hand-drawn by Emma Victoria Payne, featuring floral motifs and borders from Olivia’s great-great-grandmother’s veil from about 1880.

The bride wore the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara, made for Grosvenor brides to wear on their wedding day.

It has been owned by the Grosvenor family since its founding in 1906. Olivia’s bouquet is made from flowers picked from the gardens of the Duke’s home, Eaton Hall.

Princess Eugenie is one of several guests to have arrived at the event, while the Princess of Wales – who has been in the spotlight as she undergoes preventive chemotherapy – was not expected to attend.

Shortly before 11am, coaches and minibuses full of excited guests arrived and entered the side door of the cathedral.

As they rounded the corner, many smiled and waved back to the crowds lining the streets, cheering their arrival.

William, dressed like others in morning suits, smiled as he exited a black minivan to drive towards the building.

Guests joined the long line that crept into the cathedral, waiting to be led to their seats by Prince William and the other ushers.

The newlyweds ended their big day with a kiss and walked into the cheering crowd who wished them a new life together.

The wedding reception will be held at the Grosvenor family seat at Eaton Hall, a few miles outside Chester.
