Olivia Munn pushes back against baseless TikTok rumor that she underpaid a house cleaner… as she clarifies that they don’t even live in the same COUNTRY

Olivia Munn forcefully denied an evidence-free rumor about her stiffing a house cleaner that began spreading on TikTok on Sunday — and she made it clear it wasn’t even feasible.

The 43-year-old actress — who looked glamorous that night as she joined her presenter partner John Mulaney at the 96th Oscars in Hollywood — was accused of underpaying a house cleaner after a video of the woman complaining about how poorly she was treated spread across the social media platform.

The rumors escalated to the point that a commenter on one of Olivia’s social media posts to inform her in the comments that people were bandying her name around as the allegedly cheap and rude star.

But in a reply and a subsequent Instagram Stories post, Olivia shut down the discussion by clarifying that the allegedly underpaid house cleaner lived in Israel, while she lives in Los Angeles.

The confusion seems to have begun after the TikTok account @abigailmegan shared a video of an ’empty house’ she had been cleaning with her girlfriend for ‘more than six hours,’ ahead of an actress’ plans to move in on the following day.

She complained that they were getting ‘completely robbed,’ and she didn’t want to share how little they were being paid for the job because it was ‘humiliating.’

She then gave a tour of the home, revealing that it was certainly in need of major upkeep after seemingly sitting empty for an extended period.

While several people in the comments chastised her for not doing a full walk-through before agreeing to the payment amount, others were more interested in speculating on the actress.

Several commenters suggested that it was Olivia Munn, apparently without any evidence.

The speculation intensified after @abigailmegan posted a follow-up video of herself tearfully walking home through a city as she recounted being the ‘most humiliated’ she had ever been by the anonymous actress.

She said the woman had forced her after midnight to get down on her hands and knees to clean a speck of dust in a corner of an outdoor balcony.

Then she allegedly pulled out a ‘wad of cash,’ which the TikToker thought looked like an appropriate amount of money for what the job should have cost for 10 and a half hours of work, then gave her only half of it.

She allegedly asked the social media poster how she planned to get home, as it was after midnight, apparently without offering some means of transportation since the job had taken so long.

‘Definitely Olivia Munn,’ wrote one viewer without evidence. One person replied that it would ‘break my heart’ as they are a fan of her partner, the comedian John Mulaney.

But replies from other individuals suggested that Munn’s name may have been thrown out by parasocial former fans of the comedian who were angry over his split from his ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler amid his struggles with addiction and his subsequent relationship with Munn, with whom he shares a two-year-old son named Malcolm.

‘The same John mulaney that literally cheated on his wife for Olivia munn??’ another user replied.

‘Yeah we don’t love him anymore,’ chimed in another person.

‘he’s an awful person,’ added another, while an additional reply complained that he had allegedly been ‘snorting coke like it was oxygen.’

Another comment also speculated that it was ‘Olivia Munn,’ while alleging that ‘She just had a place renovated.’

But the evidence-free speculation quickly fell apart after other commenters pointed out that @abigailmegan previously made it clear that she lives in Israel, with others specifying that she was located in Tel Aviv.

Earlier videos appeared to confirm that, as one of her walking on a public street showed a Tel Aviv public bus with its distinctive logo driving past.

In one clip, she mentioned wanting to try out a new Shake Shack location earlier this month after it just opened, which coincided with the fast-casual burger chain’s entry into the Israel market.

And the account didn’t appear to hide her location, as she mentioned in a reply elsewhere that she was paid in Israeli shekels, rather than in US dollars. 

When Olivia posted a humorous Instagram video of herself heading to the Oscars with John, in which she revealed that her Fendi gown prevented her from sitting down, forcing her to stand in the back seat, one commenter alerted her to the drama.

‘Idk if u know but they dragging u on TikTok about not paying some cleaners [shrug emoji] might wanna fight back.’

Olivia did just that in her reply, which she reposted in more detail to her Insta Stories on Monday.

‘That TikTok thing is insane,’ she began while opening on a sympathetic note.

‘First of all, I can’t believe how this woman was treated. She did really great work,’ Munn wrote. ‘But, I’m not the actress you’re looking for.

‘The housekeeper in that video is in Israel. I live in LA,’ she continued. ‘I have one housekeeper — who is not the woman in that video — and I love her and pay her every week.’

She added that she hoped the commenters would ‘solve the mystery because she deserves to be paid what she’s worth,’ adding that the person in the video ‘cleaned the place from top to bottom and it looked amazing.’

She added: ‘Please tell TikTok for me.’

Some commenters on the originally videos who realized that they took place in Israel tossed out names of popular Israeli actresses, but @abigailmegan neither confirmed any of them nor denied that Munn was the actress in question.

She shared in one reply that she didn’t one to reveal the name out of fear of being sued.

Besides the fact that Olivia lives on a different continent as the alleged actress, she was likely busy during the period of the the cleaning fiasco, as she would have been busy with preparations for the Academy Awards.

After attending the main ceremony with John in Hollywood, where he had the crowd in stitches with a hilarious digression in which he recounted the entire plot of the Kevin Costner–starring film Field Of Dreams (1989), she and her love partied the night away at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
