Buckingham Palace is today considering “all options” over the royal race row sparked by Omid Scobie’s “toxic” new book on the monarchy.

Senior sources have told the Daily Mail that while King Charles is determined to focus on key state affairs in Dubai, where he is holding bilateral meetings ahead of delivering a keynote opening address at the COP28 summit on Friday, aides are seriously looking at how they should respond, if at all.

It comes as a Dutch-language edition of Scobie’s book names two royals whom Meghan accused of ‘unconscious bias’, which was followed up last night by presenter Piers Morgan by naming them live on television and then on social media.

The Mail has not chosen to follow suit at this stage.

While it is clear that courtiers will look at the various legal options open to them, it is incredibly unlikely that they will actually sue Scobie. They don’t want to get involved in a lengthy legal battle.

But a source told the Mail: ‘I understand the palace is considering all options open to them. The most important thing for them, however, is that His Majesty responds in the most eloquent way by continuing to conduct business and not letting it distract from much more important issues regarding the future of the planet and bilateral relations with other world leaders, including those affected because of the situation in the Middle East.’

Other options available could include sending a legal warning to those tempted to repeat the names further, especially as there is no confirmation that these are indeed the people involved or that there is any truth in the allegations themselves at all . .

The other option would be to publicly release a statement, just as the late Queen Elizabeth did in the wake of Harry and Meghan raising their original allegations in their 2021 Oprah interview, when the Duchess of Sussex claimed that a senior royal family expressed their ‘concerns’. about the skin color of her son, Prince Archie.

The late monarch then famously said that while issues surrounding race were concerning, “recollections may vary,” and promised to deal with the matter privately.

It has been reported that the king and his daughter-in-law subsequently exchanged letters on the matter, in which he reportedly expressed his sadness that she felt this way, but went to great lengths to explain that there would have been no question ‘ill will or in passing’. prejudices’ intended on behalf of those involved.

It is said that he wanted to clarify something he felt strongly about.

An unyielding King Charles III brushed aside the Endgame row today, just before Omid Scobie appears on British TV today, while Meghan and Harry were urged to sue their favorite royal reporter over the Dutch version of Endgame in which two royals are referred to as racists.

Royal experts and insiders have said there is anger in the hearts of the British royal family over the scandal, which has been further fueled after Piers Morgan revealed the names on live TV last night.

The king has landed in Dubai, where he will deliver a keynote speech at the COP28 conference on climate change. When Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu asked how he was doing, the monarch replied: “I’m almost fine.”

He added: ‘I’ve had quite an old birthday recently and am recovering from the shock of it’ – a nod to his 75th birthday earlier this month.

Mr Scobie – dubbed ‘Meghan and Harry’s mouthpiece’ by critics – will today conduct his first British TV interview on ITV’s This Morning. Some royal fans have urged people to boycott the show if he takes part.

Charles, 75, began his 48-hour trip – during which he will deliver an opening speech as the COP28 environment summit – with a 30-minute bilateral meeting with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The pair met at a hotel in Dubai ahead of the conference to discuss energy, the environment, the Commonwealth and probably the situation in Gaza and Israel.

The hunt for who leaked the letters containing the royals’ names to Omid Scobie is underway, but a senior Palace source said last night that it was “vanishingly unlikely” that the “nasty and deliberate attack” from within the royal came home.

Legal experts have suggested that the privacy-conscious Meghan and Harry should seek an injunction banning the reprinting of the names appearing in the Dutch translation that was pulled from shelves 48 hours ago. It would also prove whether the Sussexes were serious about building bridges with Harry’s family, after vowing not to reveal the names themselves.

Royal expert Phil Dampier believes that the scandal in the Netherlands has caused more unrest among the royal family.

He told MailOnline: ‘They’ll be scratching their heads Buckingham Palace and wonder what I can best do about this.

‘The fact that these names have appeared on the internet in the global world that we live in, you can find out that the names are a farce and therefore I can understand why Piers has done this. But only time will tell whether it was wise to do so.’

He added: “I don’t believe for a moment that either of the two people mentioned are racists.”

Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: ‘What Omid Scobie is doing proves he is the ultimate figure when it comes to thrill seeking, I’m afraid. In his book, Scobie makes it clear that he thinks the monarchy is in decline, possibly even permanently. He took the risk of embarrassment in strange circumstances.”

Mr Scobie said he had left out the royals in his book for legal reasons – only to have it appear in the Dutch version, which he called an “error”.

A senior Palace source told The Sun: ‘That letter is under lock and key and no one from the King’s circle would have informed anyone about its contents.

‘In all likelihood it must have been the Sussex camp that leaked the names. It is a vicious and deliberate attack.”

One of Britain’s leading media lawyers, Mark Stephens, has urged the Sussexes to sue Omid Scobie for breach of privacy.

“He’s let the cat out of the bag and they can also be in command against the world – and it could be the great rapprochement,” he said.

Mr Stephens told Newsweek: ‘You especially want to prevent him or anyone else from repeating information that should never have seen the light of day.’

‘The way Harry and Meghan demonstrate that they did not want this to be in the public domain is by getting an injunction against the person who breached their trust.

‘The moral imperative is that – given their well-known concerns about privacy and seeing another member of the family suffering as they do from an invasion of privacy – they should do everything they can to prevent this from happening further go.’
