The ‘Party PM’ Anthony Albanese steps out with old mate Dan Andrews at one of Melbourne’s top night spots
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was spotted at one of Melbourne’s top nightspots on Thursday with former Victorian Premier Dan Andrews.
The two longtime friends were seen enjoying a meal at the famous Flower Drum restaurant known for its A-list clientele, dazzling menus and posh prices.
And according to witnesses, staff were delighted to be at the service of Mr Albanese, 59, who has been dubbed by some as Australia’s ‘Party PM’ following his frequent high-profile appearances on the red carpet and at concerts.
According to sources close to the Herald SunMr Andrews, 51, was not recognized by staff at the posh venue, even though he was Victoria’s premier for nine years, from 2013 to 2023.
Andrews was known to have faced widespread criticism before his retirement last year, particularly over his government’s handling of the COVID crisis, which brought prolonged lockdowns across Victoria.

A sample of the menu on offer at the Melbourne institution, which has been in business for 50 years, includes a fully roasted suckling pig for $1100 and a Black Angus Eye Fillet for $55.
Meanwhile, a braised lamb clay pot will set diners back a whopping $70 per serving.
No details have emerged about what meals were served to Mr Albanese and Mr Andrews.
Mr Albanese has been branded Australia’s ‘party prime minister’, accused of walking the red carpet and traveling the world instead of ‘looking after the country’, as workers struggle to keep up with the rising cost of living hold.

The Prime Minister has been pictured on ‘big nights’, including a Nick Cave concert, and later on Instagram about the Australian musician.
Albanese is understood to have faced criticism after attending the exclusive GQ Man of the Year awards in 2022 with his partner Jodie Haydon.
The Prime Minister has attended other high-profile events such as the Prime Minister’s XI cricket match and Midnight Oil’s last ever performance at Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion in 2022.
And he previously came under fire for attending a Taylor Swift concert in Sydney.
Defending his participation in Swift’s Sydney show, Mr Albanese told Weekend Sunrise on Sunday that “at a time when there is so much unrest in the world, one of the reasons why Taylor Swift’s tour has been such a success is is that he is so positive’.
“It’s so uplifting, and that’s her message… And she’s a very welcome visitor here. And her message of women empowerment is, I think, positive,” he said.
