It has been thrilling roller coaster fans for 30 years. But now the ‘cherished’ Nemesis of Alton Towers has been ‘reborn’.

After closing in November 2022 to undergo an extensive makeover, the iconic Staffordshire attraction has officially reopened with a brand new design and name: ‘Nemesis Reborn’.

The roller coaster’s 250-ton, 716-meter-long white track is now black, with ‘mysterious’ red veins running along it. And new audiovisual technology has been implemented, throwing visitors into an ‘immersive experience’ from the start.

Dramatic drone footage showing the ride in action was released on Friday, with fans able to strap in for the first time on Saturday and experience the four full inversions, ‘hair-raising corkscrews’ and ‘nerve-wracking drops’, along with speeds. of 80 km/h and G-forces of 3.5.

The story behind the transformation is that Nemesis “is now a predator, seeking revenge on the shadowy Phalanx organization that held him captive.”
