Prince Alfred Park Pool: Emergency during swimming carnival as teenage girl is pulled from the water at a popular pool

A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital after being pulled from the water during a swimming party.

Emergency services were called to the Prince Alfred Park Pool in Surry Hills, Sydney, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, where they treated the high school student.

A passerby told Daily Mail Australia that the pool was hosting the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts swimming carnival at the time.

Paramedics were able to transport her on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed the teenager was recovered from the water after a medical episode and rushed to St Vincent's Hospital.
