Harry and Meghan arrive in Victoria looking for a warmer welcome after the frigid Sussex.com. Royal row after palace emerged was NOT consulted on new rebrand – but may still allow it to go ahead

'Environmentalist' Prince Harry has landed in Vancouver, Canada, aboard a gas-guzzling private jet with his wife Meghan to begin a three-day visit in connection with next year's Invictus Games.

Exclusive photos from DailyMail.com show the couple's jet landing in the City of Glass just after noon PT, after a two-hour flight from Santa Barbara – the closest airport to their Montecito home.

The plane stayed in Vancouver for 39 minutes before departing again for Victoria, where it landed at 12:47 p.m. The drive to Vancouver Island took 15 minutes and covered a distance of only 34 nautical miles.

Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, famously stayed at a mansion called Mille Fleurs on Vancouver Island, in the city of North Saanich, in the immediate aftermath of Megxit in January 2020 before moving to California when the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

Their current visit comes after the couple became embroiled in a series of controversies, including the launch of their new website. Sources now say the couple did not consult palace officials about the use of their Sussex titles.

Another was about Harry's flying visit to London last week to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis.

Once there, he was taken to Clarence House for a meeting with his cancer-stricken father, which lasted just 30 minutes and did not include his stepmother, Queen Camilla.

The 39-year-old then spent the night in a hotel before catching a Delta flight back to LA – less than 24 hours after arriving.

Last week it was claimed that Prince Harry would have 'happily accepted' a reunion with his brother William, but opted to stay at his hotel.

It is believed that William, 41, remains focused on caring for his wife Kate, who is recovering from her abdominal surgery and is taking an extended leave of absence from public duties until after Easter.

Harry then surfaced in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, where he was a presenter at the NFL Honors Awards – a televised gala held at Sin City's massive Resorts World hotel.

When presenting the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to the Pittsburgh Steeler's Cameron Heyward, he made a joke about rugby and told the crowd, “I really love how you stole rugby from us and made it your own.”

“Instead of passing it backwards, just passing it forwards. Why not wear pads and helmets? Naturally.

'Have an attack and a defense – that makes sense. Why not take a breather every 15 seconds? And you know what? Instead of a ten-month season, let's make it 18 weeks. Genius.'

Despite his cheerful demeanor on stage, Harry was later pictured looking somber in the hotel's underground parking lot and didn't stay to watch the Kansas City Chief beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

On Monday, the couple's relaunched website featured Harry's 358-word biography, which highlighted his environmental achievements – despite his penchant for using private jets.

Meghan's longer biography emphasized her reputation as a philanthropist, but made only one mention of her acting past and none of the royal family.

Critics said the website is an attempt to cash in on the couple's royal connections, leading to a new round of calls for the duo to have their titles removed, including from Meghan's biographer Tom Bower.

One said: 'They are going to have real problems using Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is even a hint of commercialism in it, it will be discontinued. It's just baffling that they can't see how lame it is.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror reported that the couple had not consulted palace officials before launching the new site.

The Sun newspaper also said Harry faced claims that the emblem used was outdated after he became the monarch's son last year.

The crown of the emblem contains five points for grandson, while it should be three for son.

The new look Sussex.com also made great use of Harry's Invictus Games initiative, which returns next year with a snow sports edition in Whistler.

The Sussexes' three-day trip is to promote the Winter Games while meeting competitors from the US, Canada, France, Ukraine and Nigeria at a training camp at the resort.

The trip includes two days of meetings with competitors at Whistler ski area and another appointment in Vancouver on Friday,

This includes Prince Harry's impressive memoir Spare, which he made as part of a $20 million deal with Penguin Books.

The couple also teamed up with Netflix to produce the docuseries Harry And Meghan, with the streaming giant reportedly paying the couple $100 million for the six-episode series.
