PRO-Palestine activists have singled out Barclays Bank for ‘arming Israel’ by protesting outside almost 50 branches in Britain yesterday.
The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) accused this Barclays of maintaining ‘substantial ties’ with arms companies that supply weapons used in the Gaza conflict.
PSC director Ben Jamal said: “The financial support of arms companies by companies like Barclays must stop immediately.”
The group encouraged its supporters to join marches at 48 locations, including outside Barclays on Tottenham Court Road in Londonwhere around 100 demonstrators sang the controversial battle cry ‘From the river to the sea’.
But the protesters could not get too close to the branch as police formed a human wall to block them.
It comes next Rishi Sunak insisted Police to “not only manage, but also control” the protests.
delivering an address to the nation on Friday, The prime minister warned that democracy is being targeted by extremists in the wake of the October 7 attacks and urged campaigners to protest “with empathy”.
